Right can someone please confirm the following for my 2006, 56 plate A4 b7.

Dipped Headlights - H7
Main Beam - H7
Fogs - H11
Side lights - 501
Indicators - 382/581/3581

Also can anyone recommended me some good very bright white H7s ive been looking at those osram night breakers, i just want some nice white gas looking bulbs to get rid of the yellow look, but dont want anything too expensive.

Ive seen these for my side light and they look very good:

Those bulbs would be right for a B6, but I can't confirm for a B7 sorry - have you tried Powerbulbs?

I ordered some of THESE for my main beams (they used to be available individually maybe worth an email to seller to see if they still are). They match the HID's I have perfectly, and are very reasonable priced. Personally I would ignore these sidelights and fit LED ones.

I have Nightbreakers in my fogs and they look quite yellow against the colour of these bulbs.

the sidelights are led ones.

Had some night breakers in my 56 plate A4 and to be honest didn't think too much of them, just changed to Phillips x-treme power and I think they're a better bulb.

BTW bought them from powerbulbs and got a free set of side bulbs

James the item number on ebay is 290307122515

They are LED side lights bulbs.

Ah sorry, I thought from your post that you meant the sidelight bulbs in the ebay link I posted were LED's - misunderstood you sorry.

Sorry to to make a random comment James but just had a look at that listing, can I just ask - what an earth has a woman with big boobs got to do with bulbs? Could understand if she was 'modelling' them between her fun bags but she is just sat there next to a wheel!

Oh, and I'd go for the Phillips Extreme - they are about as close as you can get to HID's in my opinion.

I dunno - the advert is nothing to do with me! I posted it because the bulbs are good, not the marketing strategy!

Although it's got us talking about the product .....

Philips extreme were only £20 from Powerbulbs with free blue vision sidelights, bought them last week. use this code for 10% off as well ;) CLEGT1432

I've got some of the these for sale: Phillips vision plus:

http://www.powerbulbs.com/product_detail.asp?prod=53

£15 delivered, got two sets, bought them, used them for about a week, then got HIDs, realised they blinded everyone, then got the x-treme ones instead. PM me if interested

philips vision blue for the white/blue HID look, or Xtreme for the most power but a yellow/white look not a white/blue, but ****** bright - I have them in my full beam its a proper white light but not as HID looking at the vision blue ones.

on the side lights LEDs will cause the bulb out failure due to the canbus wiring, I found the philips blue ones to be not blue enough and got a pair of deep blue cheapo ones off ebay that when turned on matched the white/blue headlight bulbs to a T! lol

if you want to know more on bulbs search for my other posts on this as I have covered it a few times as I know a fair bit about them due to me job..

and before anyone says HIDs are not the answer!! not in the stock headlamp with the reflex reflector and I know that i have tried it...

.....so you'll need to install a pair of load resistors to prevent this :icon_thumright:

.... or buy some of these TOWER LEDS which I have recommended to lots of people, and never heard of a bulb out warning yet

(hopefully the ones you have bought will be fine, but just in case.....)

Well after spending an hour trying to change my side light bulbs i did a google search and discovered you need to remove the H7 main beam bulb to give you more room first and this seems to make things alot easier.

However ive f*****d up and made things worse now because upon fitting my LEDS, like mentioned on here they trigger the bulb out warning so i need some LED sidelights that dont do this.

However my problem is the damn sidelight bulb has fell into the actual light and now i cant get it out, i have tried removing the headlight (passenger) but i unscrew the first 3 screws and it just gets stuck and there are so many ****** cables and clips attached i dont know what to do, any ideas?:bye:

This is for a B6 but might be of some use?

On mine the fourth screw is very well buried and you really need to look for it.

The LED's I mentioned from Ultraleds in my last post in here are very good and I have never heard anyone who uses them have a bulb out warning.

HTH.

James.

Taking the lights out is pretty easy really. You just need to have a long enough Torx driver to get the lower screws loose. This guide should help:

Hey there.....first off let me say I'm with M7R on the HID issue. I woulda loved to have fitted them to my A6 but with no projectors it was just a no no.....probable pulls by the law and possible MOT failures.
I recently wanted to do the same thing with my A6 nad upgrade the lighting. I went with the Sportzblue 80w for the mainbeam, dipped and fogs.....what a result!!
See me post here

I also fitted leds to the rear number plate lights to complete the look......Awesome IMO.

Check it out and see what you think

All the best

Jim

I think that its a bumper off job to take out the headlight
