My mate has the 4 ring silver door decals on his blue 2.3 Audi 80 Quattro Coupe which looks great (btw the 80 coupe is a car I still think looks great and his G Reg has now done 250K miles !!!).....

Now back to th e B6 what do you guys think of 4 rings decals on the front doors below the door bump strip of the front doors of a B6 A4 Avant ?

No I have not done mine yet......just wanted the views of the collective...

i have only seen 1 with them done when i was in spain and i thought it looked quite smart.

I agree, I think it would look very smart.

And here's another set of stickers from earlier Audis, UR style window stickers:

Love the quattro window stickers - are they still available?

I'd be sorely tempted to put some subtle 4 ring decals on the front doors too - grey on black or something like that.

Thankyou, even though I say so myself they do look really good - look totally original.

These were part of a group buy that took place in the Audi Owners Club - I don't think they are still available from the dealer but am not 100% on that. These are smaller and people were given the choice of font colour and style etc. One of the best £3 I have ever spent!

I saw a black B8 A4 with the rings on the doors and it looked crap to be honest:shrug:. But it's your car and if you want them sure put them on and if you don't liek them they can be taken off again.

Generally though I think you really need to choose the sticker colour carefully, black rings on a grey car would look good, but white rings on a black car wouldn't. IMO I think the sticker colour needs to be darker than the car colour to look most effective.

Someone will doubtlessly post a pic now to prove me wrong!

What colour were the rings on the B8? Good spot though, I haven't seen door rings on a modern Audi for years.

They were white and didn't suit the car at all, It just looked dated.

Cmon lads, sticker related talk and no ones mentioned me!!

If you want a quattro one for your window, you can have a quattro one for your window. Pm me your address!

Hi James,

Cheers:thumbsup:

210 x 20 mm mine are.

Ask him if he fancies doing some door rings too? ;)

Any pics of these door rings?

I'm still trying to find out sizes, but something like this:

That is a link from an ebay ad, but I wouldn't want you to think I am after something for nothing

Got them!

So who wants them? £50 a set but since its you guys, £49.95 ;)

There are lots of replica's on ebay, but just remember the original Audi ones start off darker and the rings 'fade' towards the rear of the car. They look much better than the replica's you can get where the rings are all solid ;)

Faded vinyl could be a problem as thats done with a vinyl printer to set the gradient.

Which I cannot do.

I guess that would be why only one of the ebay sets are faded and thats a lot more expensive then?

Thats a shame :3sadwalk:

Id say so yes, vinyl printer/plotters cost the earth!

But if anyone wants a solid set, Ill do the first 3 sets for nowt.

So, how much are the OEM faded 4 ring door decals from your local friendly Audi Dealer ?
Anyone got the Part Number ?

I don't know how much they cost or if they are NLA, but I do know that the size of them at 17 x 47cm is, IMO at least, too big for an A4. Main reason I say this is the gap between the bottom of the door and the rubbing strip is only 13cm so the decal would go over the rubbing strip which would look awful.

I am having a think about what size to go for to fit in the available space, I dont want them very big, less is more when it comes to these stickers I think.

Well, keep me posted if you get some.....I may go for the same silver as my alloys, or dark silver or dark grey on my mauritius blue motor....as you correctly say less is more....and I want it looking original rather than some stick on e-bay bodge job.....

I will do mate, I need to work out the size and then the colour, Avus silver like the wheels etc, or etched glass to match the quattro sticker

Will keep you posted, but it's got to be right

James get us a further away shot will ya - theres a good 4RiNgEr!!:salute:

PM me if you want these doing, dont cost much at all.....BTW i also wrap vehicles too ;)

Those rings loook pretty good James.

@ The Slug, how much is vehicle wrapping? I won't be doing mine, just interested to know though.

Just to note - the solid rings are available all over ebay, but these are as per originals with the faded font, which Rocko states needs a much more expensive machine to produce.

I am after some thoughts please as I'm not sure what to do. the eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed that the stickers on each side don't match. This is intentional for the time being.

One of the stickers has a mark which is only visible up close, but still annoying. The seller is being very understanding and is sending another pair.

The original stickers seen on the UR fade towards the rear of the car. I tried to emulate this, but the difficulty is that when you put light coloured stickers on a dark coloured car like mine that effect tends to be reversed. Basically as the silver fades on a dark car it actually becomes more prominent - I hope that makes sense!

So I put the sticker on this way round first off, fading towards the rear:

But knowing that more were coming, when I stuck the second one on I reversed it so the faded part was at the front giving the effect of the rings 'emerging' from the paintwork.

So which looks best? Top or bottom pic as it's doing my head in trying to decide! :banghead:

:undwech:

Thats better, can see it in whole now.
Defo Front fade first, looks more of a blend if you get what I mean..the other way just dont look right for some reason.

...And I tell you what james, Your avant is looking sweeter by the day with all these little additions you keep adding..You'll be catching the BUB up soon..How can I put it,, your car looks very co-ordinated!!

Just out of interest, are you Sline'in it? Bumpers etc??

Thanks Mate :friends: I am pleased with how it's coming. Financially I am pushing it after all I have spent this year :faint: I have decided to pass on a couple of S-line fronts, because what I really want is an S4 bumper. I have decided against colour coding anything for the time being as if I am spending any money in a paintshop I would rather it be on a better bumper you know. Ultimately I think an S4 bumper with S4 blades unpainted would look lovely. Need to lower it soonest too - keep hoping for a spring to break so I can justify it lol.

I have a standard 1.8T rear valance coming so I can get some nice tail pipes on, problem being the first one they sent was for a diesel with the hidden pipes (which I already have) and the second one damaged and I am waiting to hear if they have anymore to try again!

The other thing I have seen on Audizine is this - which I do like although I wonder if it looks a bit non-oem for me ..... Full story HERE

I like them but i think i would have had the circles slightly thinner to give more defination at the circle overlaps to make them look more oem
if you get what i mean.

My understanding is they are exact copies of the OEM ones just reduced proportionally in size.

I like the faded part to the front, I think:think: But I think you need to lower it. It kinda looks like an A4 allroad!Lol But seriously I actually like the rings, I didn't think I would.
