Ive heard on the A3 (8P) you can set the steering wheel via vag-com so it become lighter, any one know how to do this?

I fitted 18'' s-line wheels, lowered the car 25mm,fitted new track rod ends it was ok,then i had 4 wheel alignment done and now steering is slightly heavier, tracking was out (obviously after new track ends and lowering) is it quite normal to go heavier, its not very heavy but you can tell, ive checked tyre pressures they ok.

If any one can guide me how to adjust steering through vag-com to set it so its lighter please let me know thanks.

Depends how old the car is. If it an 07 or later then you cant adjust the steering boost.

More info here. I found 3 to improve the steering nicely.

yours was on 8 now 3 is it lower the number the lighter the wheel ?

Must be heavy on 3 ????????

No by default most UK sport model cars are on 6. Three reduces the amount of power assistance and increases the feedback you get through the wheel.

Mine was on 10 when I checked mine! No wonder it felt dangerous! Had it put on 2 if I remember correctly. This is one of the most useful "mods" in my opinion, and also cheapest. Car feels so much better! Definitely worth doing. You should try it on different settings first before you keep it at that setting, just to see what feels best for you.

mine was set on 8 and ive now set it on 9 and it feels great not too light or too heavy,i can still feel good feedback through the wheel........you guys must have a heavy wheel ......all you guys are 5 and below:wtf:

Why on earth are you posting the same thing on 2 different threads in the same forum??

The problem with the steering is that its to over assisted and reduces the feedback you get. Putting it up to 9 your put more steering assit in. At 3 it isnt heavy but you can feel what the wheels are doing.

Humm, always thought the steering was a little light. Wheres the settings in Vagcom?

Cheers :)
