Alright folks,

I'm hoping to pick up my new car in the next week or two if the dealer ever lets me know when its arriving but i was wondering if they would do a few VAG.com changes for me before i take ownership of the car.

Do you think they would help me out or would there be some hassle there??

The things i was hoping to change were -

1) When i have the DRL's on, i would like the rear lights to be on all the time with them.

2) I would like to change the time delay on the headlight washers so that its longer before it kicks in.

3) I've seen somewhere that you can change the intensity of the DRL's but this i still need to confirm with someone who knows what they are talking about, ha ha.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Brucer

My dealer has always carried changes for me with no problem at all. I think they connect the car to their VW5051 diagnostic equipment (dealers do not use vag, com) during the PDI and so it's not a major issue.

Speak to them and I'm sure they will be happy to oblige.

Thanks for that Dave. I'll take in a box of celebrations or something for them, ha ha. Now to find out about the DRL intensity issue!!

The DRL intensity option didn't work on pre LED cars, at least not when Mitch tried it. It might work on the new LED variants though. ;)

On the subject of headlight washer delay, isn't that now adjusted in the DIS? Dave have you seen this option? You may have to enable the advanced comfort option on the central electronics module.

Cheers John,

I'll put the question to the technicians to see if they can change the intensity of the LED's.

I am actually selling genuine vagcom cables now if you're interested so you can do all the changes yourself now & future.

Thank you for the offer NHN but im not the most clued up guy when it comes to computers so im worried i would mess things up really badly, ha ha. Dont get me wrong though, i would love to be able to do these things myself. Is it easy enough to pick up?

Of course man & with us guys on here & some beginners help from me you can easily work this software/cable, pays for itself in 1st use mate, I've used mine thousands of times tbh & has enabled me to do some things the dealer couldnt.

I can assure you nobody with the genuine system would ever complain about it & say it wasnt worth its weight in gold or more.

Yeah I agree. I weighed up the cost vs the use and took a bit of a gamble but it's definately paid for itself!

Are there no ASN members in Edinburgh?

Your making it sound easy NHN. Could you possibly PM with a price please & what things i would require for it to work on my laptop. Thank you

Dont you start today slick, dont you think yesterday was enough for you, lmao

Anyway havnt you ever heard of an acronym :undwech:

It's never enoughhhhhhh!!!! lol

I'm in the army mate, they invented acronyms!

Anyway...Brucer if you're planning to keep your car for a while or at least stay with Audis then it's a worthwhile investment. Especially if you start to have faults.

It's a quite intuative bit of kit so don't worry about learning how to use it.

Even if you decide to change your car later on & utilise another vag branded car then vagcom can be used on pretty much every vag car anyway, so its a seriously worthy investment.

Anyway I thought you boys only used sign language now :undwech:

Yes I sell the Hex/Can/USB, but I dont sell the Micro-Can currently, I'm only doing the full monty, its just not worth my time for other mate, cause everyone I speak to tend to use on other cars not on that platform, unless there is a surge of interest, its tight enough prices as is & I dont make very much at all, but more business might improve pricing for us all if I can create a name for reliable service & supply of genuine vagcom through the forums, any help appreciated.

I spent months trying to sort a deal with many distributors & even with RT direct, trust me it wasnt easy.

lmao, good one.

Edited.

I thought Hex+CAN was the full monty! I wish I'd paid the extra actually as my dad wants some stuff done on his Passat.

Gents im seriously considering this as a good investment but might just have to hold on for a couple of weeks until i get all the costs out of the way with the new car as i need to pay for the paint protection film, window tinting & finally getting the car detailed.

I appreciate all the comments though, its good to hear other peoples views

Edited post as above, sorry thought you were referring to the micro-can mate
