Hi all,

I've been looking at fitting a front splitter or lower lip spoiler to the front bumper of my car, it's an 05 reg sportback sport (in black) with the standard bumper. I've seen the thread about the cupra splitter but only seen this fitted to an s-line bumper, has anyone done this with a standard bumper?

Also wondered if anyone knows what lip spoiler is fitted to the car in this link?

it looks similar to the rieger ones (and copies) i've seen online and on ebay but it is slightly slimmer and less obvious imho.

I'd prefer something in abs plastic than grp so it looks more standard and lasts a bit better if it does get accidentally scraped or aged with the inevitable stone chips.

Anyone have any suggestions or links? I'm no after anything outrageous, just something relatively discreet, standard and smart looking.

thanks,

Andrew.

that i think, is the votex front splitter and votex side skirts, if you fit the votex front splitter then the cupra spoiler will fit onto that!

I've fitted the cupra splitter to my pre-facelift.
Not sure how my bumper differs to yours, but here's a pic anyways.
Doesn't look quite as good as the s-line, but still not too shabby.

ok, after some more searching I found a couple of pics of the cupra splitter on a standard bumper model:

So I recon for £20 you can't really go wrong.

I've seen the votex (or vortex) one in a few pictures and it seems a bit too deep without having side skirts etc to match:

and I still think it looks slightly different in the centre to the one on the blue car in the above link.

My car has the single larger/later grill with chrome style surround.

Thanks.

thats really nice, im loving your car more n more mate! how did you fit the splitter, is it the cupra splitter then?!

Thanks Gixxer - Wanna buy it?

It's the cupra splitter I've fitted. £22 from the local seat dealer.
Very easy to fit. Just screws into the bottom of the bumper.

not sure yet, i'm still looking at my car to see if it will look good on it i take it you want £22 for it, I must say that, that is a really good price, would have thought it would be a lot more than that!!

I think he was on about his car gixxer ....
Last time i got a seat spoiler for mine he charged 25 quid a few month ago, Maybe i got ripped.

lol - Yeah, I was talkin' bout the car dude!
The splitters are £22ish from seat dealers....

I bought the cupra spoiler the other day and trial fitted with tape, can't decide if it looks right or not. As my car is black to start with and the spoiler is matt it doesn't contrast as well as some of the other pictures and looks a bit 'stuck on' and ar$e to me. what do people think? It also doesn't line up properly in the centre where you have to cut the two lugs off.
I have a couple of pics but can't seem to attach them to this post. Using the insert picture button just gives me a url box and i don't have any hosting space to upload the pics.

cheers,

Andrew.
