Look what I bought from eBay

I know, lets concentrate on my brakes. And be happy I got them :eyebrows:

For one, I think they'll look amazing and you got a great deal, considering I paid £250 for S4 Callipers and Discs.
Which were more than enough for my A4.

Huge brakes always look amazing, maybe you could get some carbon ceramic discs cheaply, that would be wicked.

Although I'd be concerned that I'd end up with 4 rings on my forehead every time I braked.....lol

Nathan, I am abit concerned about the custom carriers as there is ALOT of forces on those babies. If the are not machined EXACTLY to a T youve got a potential disaster there.... just my 2 cents...

I dont think there should be a concern about the master cylinders as I am running Cayenne 6 pots with no issues. I know guys who are running RS4 8 pots with no drama...

hameow you got any pics of yours it sounds nice on your SIG

Here is the pic from last month with the calipers in Matt grey. I just sprayed it Brilliant Black with the same Audi logos last week! :)

LOL. Well I've been driving my cousin's 335bhp Big Turbo TT around daily at normal speeds, and he's running the ECS Stage 5 Kit with 6 Pot Cayenne Turbo Calipers and its just fine, no problems at all. Of course when you stamp on them they are fantastic. I really can't wait.

Quattronics are specialists in this field, so I doubt there will be a problem, at least I hope not :scared2: I've been driving my cousin's 335bhp Big Turbo TT around and he's running the ECS Stage 5 Kit like you are they are SUPERB. I agree with you about the master cyclinder as at £1500 I could have gone for ECS/RS4.

spray them by all means but make sure you leave the AMG badge on

Cheers Steve. Unsure what colour now, I do want them to stand out.

Probably find the rears will need upgrading too or your stopping distance will be increased due to the rears doing less work over the fronts. You have any plans to do the rear?

Not really.

I have 345mm S3 setup on my A3 and i also have the 312 rear setup.

the 345mm seems fine and defo stops more quicker compared to before. i thought the back end was going to popping out and really twitchy when braking but nothing - so ive not put the rears on.

Nath - Brakes look awesome fella - should fill those 20s nicely. Paint them silver - will contrast nicely with your wheels (if your still painting them the colour you said before!) - god buy :D

BTW - i had a C63 AMG the other day and if the brakes on that were anything to go on, it will handle your car with eaaasssee!

Cheers Kaz, never knew you were running S3 brakes? Are you pleased with them. I'll get them refurbed in silver and keep the AMG badges I think. I'm getting the wheels powdercoated anthracite this week. Then slap them on next weekend I hope.

I definitely would like to see the powder coated anthracite wheels when they're done.

I'd go with anthracite or akoya silver, either should look good. Try and get them to match something else on the car ... the grill colour or centre cap colour etc.

Update: Have just managed to buy some RS4 front discs from Phil at PW Motorsport for £460 instead of Audi's £686, so I'm quite happy with that!! Should be getting pads next week, so I'm hoping the brakes will be on by mid August!

Sorry - didnt see this reply! Yeah - they handle my A3 with ease! Look good too!

Thanks

Ashley

Everythings coming along well Ashley, I'm gonna get my brake pads next week, then the following monday all going well drop the car off to quattronics and then hopefully it shouldn't be too long until its done.

Never knew that mate, where to in Bristol? Got few friends there and dad use to live there for a few years. Yeah defo interested in a detail mate. I'll pm you a bit later on. I cant remember where i saw phtoos of your sportsback but it did look nice and very clean. Your cousin TT was in a few photos.

Born in bred in whitchurch, not sure if you know it? The sportback is alright lad, but when wheels go on and new short plates, it will up the levels, I'm getting there, really pleased with the car overall. I've got to pick my cousins TT next week, new interior going in, including buckets and then thats being detailed too. Plenty to be getting on with!

they will look fecking wicked you were lucky getting the calipers so cheap , im sure they will be and look awesome.....

yeah id love a set of them with them disc to they will look really nice behind the wheel...

Are the rear brakes still adequate with these huge beasts on the front?

Funny you should say that, I've just got back from picking my wheels up from the refurbers. Abit of a cack photo to be honest, but you get the point.

I don't see why not, isn't 75-80% done on the front. My cousin has ECS Cayenne 6 pot on his TT with tiny rear brakes and they are fine!

yeah does look nice behind the wheel ....still unsure on the red but im sure once there on the car with brakes on an dropped then it will look ok ...certainly different anyhow .. its a bit like jap style get some pics on soon as your done...:o.k:

See, listening to me has paid off laddy. They look well, I knew they would. None of this rich tea buisness. If I get my hands on some staggered Segins at the right time im gonna snap them up and get them done a deep ox blood red.

Nate those alloys look great and brakes look good behide them! I do like the colour quite looking forward to seeing how it looks on the car. It will 100% stand out! Those alloys look unique! Nice finish on them aswell...
