since ive remapped my car its performing alot better, but ive noticed it seems to have a flat spot now between 3500rpm and 5000 rpm not always, it seems to be intermitant, dont feel it at all really in cold weather i.e in the morning, but when im tarvelling home at about 5pm and the weathers warm i can feel it, any ideas guys, could the remap be highlighting a weak coil pack or plug? wot u reckon?

I'd be pointing a finger at the MAF I think.

think i need to get vagcom, how do i go about getting hold of it?

That to me like voorhees says sounds like heatsoak

My friend had the same proplem on his Golf. He never found out what it was untill he got a 5 hour free revo trail to see the differance. And no flat spot....It was because he had a cheap map.

Yeh that's what i was thinking sounds like a cheap remap, could have a fault code in the program causing this, my advise is take it back to the place you had it remapped from and tell them this.

You'll never cut heat soak out all together, obviously a fmic will help...but a good tuner should be able to remap your car to help minimize heat soak...

Just thought i'd join in on this post as i am currently looking to remap my 210bhp S3 and was looking for the best one to go for, i see the most common ones are revo and AmD, any help guys?

Im going for Revo as there local to me and i know a few of the guys there. I think your safe as long as you dont buy a cheap map or proplems will occor.
AmD, Revo, Jabbasport, CC are the most common so id just stick to one of these.
Revo do a 5 hour free trail so it maybe worth cheaking it out :)

I have been looking into trialing REVO but the garages I have found so far only do the trial for Fly By Wire engines, is this the case/does anyone know where to get it done for an AGU engine?

Really? I thought the trail was ok on all the S3 engine codes.....They dont do the free trail on Diesals at my local Revo so maybe the dealers all have differant restrictions.

If only I has an S3 :sadlike:

This was for an AGU A3 1.8T

Custom Code can do one for your car, would be about £300 quid. Chip and Spin are doing my A3 1.8t AGU at the end of the month for £250 including before and afters on the rollers.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

Sounds imteresting Tom. Not sure about the A3 1.8T Remaps....

i've been having the same problem mate, had my car mapped the other day and it certainly wasnt a cheap one, and he's done many other s3's. i've looked into it and its either a MAF sensor or the turbo intake pipe collapsing under pressure. i've jus fitted a forge diverter valve and have just ordered new samco turbo hoses so this should solve the problem....hopefully haha fingers crossed.

Well ive never looked into the A3 1.8T remaps as i have an S3 lol. Still recon Revo is your best bet! Also im not to sure about the other map companys but Revo will upgrade to stage 2 for the extra £49 instead of paying £350 again.

yeah that makes sense. The problem I have is that after a stage one my K03 will be at its limit so to go to a phase 2 would cost me mega bucks anyway. After spunking pretty much £1800 on my car over the last 2 months with all the wheels and suspension mods I think I'll have to settle for a phase 1 as the banks going to kill me if I keep spending money on it!.

Is this true? So stage one and two or £450 effectively then?

With revo do you have the opportunity to specify exactly how you want power delivered and specify exact tuning? Like Custom codes do? I have noticed that CC offer 40% price reduction when you have stage one

keep me informed on this one mate if you will cos ive been thinking that it could be my intake pipe or maf, let me know how you get on mate:thumbsup:

Yea, Say i went to Revo and bought myself a stage 1 for £349.99 (Not sure on the prices but i know im around the right figures).
Then 6 months down the line i got myself an exhaust, Panel filter and some other little bits and wanted the stage 2, i would pop down to Revo and only pay the £49.99 extra for the Stage 2. Unlike if i went to CC and payed £349.99 for a stage 1 and then did my mods and went for a stage 2 id have to pay the full £399.99 again. (Again not sure on prices)

And yes im 95% sure that Revo do a custom map like CC. :yum:

jus got the new turbo intake pipe and turbo hoses, but i dont think i've got the right intake pipe, there dont seem to be enough ports on the top end. there is only 1 large port for the diverter valve to attatch to and my car has what looks like a breather pipe connected to the intake pipe and also to the rocker cover, have i been sent the wrong intake pipe????

ermm....Not sure on the pipe. Put them both side by side and take a picture.

am gonna take it to an audi specialist on monday get them to sort it cos i've been fightin with the intake hose and the turbo hoses for the past 3 hours, the mouth of the turbo hose will NOT fit over the mouth of the throttle body. i've had it in boiling water to soften the hose and i've greased the mouth of the throttle body but no joy am also gettin the new MAF sorted on monday so if am still havin the flat spots in 4th, 5th and 6th i will be gettin onto the company who remapped my car :gun2:

I had a similar problem last year when i had mine remapped (custom code), took the car back to my mate who done the remap and i took him out in the car with his laptop plugged into my OBD.
Turned out the fuel i was using (texaco) wasnt up to the job and was pulling my ignition timing out so he told me to use optimax, thats all ever put in the car now and its never had a flat spot since.
Just thought that story might be relevant.
Obviously if u r already running optimax or similar forget i even spoke lol

Ring them up and ask as it doesnt state it on their website. You have to already have the stage 1 installed to only pay the extra for the stage 2....

CC do offer 40% off stage 2 i believe...or something like that (cant be ***** to check)..... that said both offer custom maps, another thing i preferred about CC is that they make their own from scratch whereas Revo's are all UK dealers and so they can only change within parameters (as i cant see Revo putting their name behind an entirely custom map) doesnt make commercial sense.....

also CC/JBS used to sell Revo for years (they claim to have been a top provider in the UK) only to change to their own because Revo wouldnt allow them the freedom to manipulate the maps how they wanted to.... thats the story i got from the guy that owns JBS - im technically a salesman myself so understand there may be questions raised here

I may even do a poll. Haha only joking im going for a Revo map. As there 10 miles away and great guys, May also get a discount :)

purchase the revo select module and you can change the settings yourself via the OBDII port like I do ;)

still need to meet up with you sometime to give mine a going over vorhees.
