Toyo or Yokohama tyres?

I must asume there was nothing written in here as to which car etc and whether you have a budget.

I have Yoke spec2 Paradas and they are great in the dry, and average in the wet. But i was lucky and bought them very cheap

ok it didn't post what i wrote. so lets try again.

the question is which tyres do you guys think are the best for my S3 thats been remaped??

i know the tyres need upgrading because they tried selling me the new RS4 split spoke alloys with tyres called Kenda.

now im no expert but iv never heard of them before and they dont sound like they'd last 10seconds on an S3!!!

or
Yokohama?

and does the extra £150 to upgrade to them sound a good deal??

Spec 2s are considerably better than the toyos, but are designed for dry grip... They arent GREAT in the wet, but i don't push it in the wet anyway, so it suits me just fine.

Parada's are very good tyres mate, although dont expect them to last for ever. I was very happy with the Parada's on my S3 but ive recently switched to Michelin Pilot Sport 2's in the hope of getting more life out of a set of tyres. (They better last longer they were about £30 a tyre more than what ive always paid for the parada's)

PS2's are quite soft so might not be the choice for lasting a long time. I too have PS2's and think they are great. I swore by them on the M3.

I think Toyo's are a better all round tyre than Yokos but it depends what you're after? Dry grip, wet grip both? Goodyears are a good choice too

Why have a Quattro car then skimp on tyres. Mine is awesome in wet and snow now!

I actually have the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's and I love them, they are excellent in the dry and the wet....if that helps at all.

I found the Toyo's to be exellent in the wet they cut through standing water patches on the motorway like no other tire i've had but like the Yoko's are a little soft when it comes to wear.. mine have been on around 18 months and have done approx 20,000 miles which is good but they are mostly motorway miles and they are now ready for changing

If you do a search on what the best tyres are, I think you will find the general consensus is that the Goodyear Eagle F1's are the best ones to go for, if you can afford them.

I have Falkens 452's all round, i know this is neither of your choices but if your after a budget proformance tyres they seem very good!

Cant fault wet or dry performance, but they can take a little time to warm up...

I'll second the GOODYEAR F1 tyres its all i ever use! yoko's are too soft and wear within no time and crap in wet... toyo's are great grip apparently BUT again wear far too quick.. the F1's seem to grip in wet and dry and last a good while too

Yes another vote for F1's, best compromise (and tyres are always a compromise) between grip & wear and very good in the wet, also very cheap if you know where to go and shop around. Get a price from black circles then call the local fitter they recommend and buy them direct from him for an even better price.

Got Toyos on after F1s for 2 sets and wouldn't go back. Better in the wet, no noticeable difference in the dry, wear rate and noise better.

Maybe my last set of F1s were below par?

I've got some nice 2.5" and 3" lipped BBS RM's sat at home too

To be honest i'm quite tempted to sell her, just dont drive her much since I got my S3!
