Ok, so i got my first Audi 3 weeks ago and i love it! Much better than i thought it would be.

So now i've been looking at other front/rear ends and different variations, and theres one thing that i really want to try, alot of people have said its expensive to do etc an alot of work, but i'm planning to keep the car for a while so want to find out more.

1. This week my RNS-e comes so i will be upgrading that front the Symphony, but the Symphony currently has the 6-CD so can i keep that and use it with the RNS-e, or is that part of the Symphony unit?

Now for the External parts:

Now above is my car at the moment, and below is what im looking to have (if at all possible).

Now i would really like to know from someone who knows everything about the A3s (i know theres loads of you out there) if the front and rear end like pictured above can be fitted to my car, what work is involved, and if anyone would like to help (with cash in return).

Other things i would like to do in the future are the Audi wing mirrors that have the indicators built in. Currently i have the chrome mirrors but they dont fold in, is it possible to add the kit that makes them fold in?

Thanks for takin the time to read,

Regards

All things are possible, obviously you will need front and rear bumpers, which are a straight swap, front bumper conversions are about 500 all in, rear bumper id say around 200 (both second hand), then the side skirts are 200 ish i think you can get wing mirror covers off ebay for about 60 i think, and then the wheels, could be anythin up to 700-800 for decent rs4 reps in 19's..

world is your oyster lol

if anyone knows better in terms with prices feel free to correct me..

Tom

So the front end will fit straight onto mine? I was told that front bumber pictured wouldn't be a straight swap?

Yeah in the future i want to get those rims but there way too pricey at the minute, but i was thinking with the front and rear, if i bought them and sold mine now i would get a fair amount of cash back.

Well the bumper will go on, but you have to trim the crash bar a few cm either side, i think its when you change to s-line bumper where you need to change the bonnet.

Think you only need to change the bonnet if your car is pre-facelift with the double grill. So your fine on that one.

Also I think the little bits at the bottom of the doors might need trimming or replacing for the S3 sideskirts because the standard ones might catch slightly. Heard it's much easier to just buy the S3 door bottom bits.

Think that's right, someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

oright ok well that sounds fine, does anyone know somewhere other than eBay that will sell the front bumber, rear bumper and skirts?

Also just out of interest, does anyone live near Essex who would fit for cash?

Thanks guys

You will need the following S3 parts

Front bumper,
Fog lights
Fog light grilles
Main front grille (its slightly smaller than the S line one you have to make the conversion more expensive)
Headlight washer covers (all S3's have Xenons so you will need these to cover the holes in the bumper as yours doesnt have them.

Rear bumper
Lower rear spoiler (2 types, pre 09 and post 09, both will fit and only differ slightly in design)
For the rear you will have to slightly modify the rear valance underneath as the diesel exhaust just catches it.

Its not a cheap job but quite easy, especially if you know someone who can paint it cheap. As for the skirts, I have no idea but i have heard they are a nightmare as the bottoms of the doors need changing and so do the interior sills as they dont match up to the s-line ones.

Hi mate,

I am a bit confused on your car.

I thought all s line's had no bumps on the front and rear bumpers. I may be wrong but this is what i though.

Can anybody confirm whether this is the case or not?

sorry to hi jack thread :0

its not the facelift s-line scottee thats the old slines they are like sport bumpers what sline used to have

Early S-Line's (2004-2005) came with an option to have the exterior S-line pack fitted at an extra cost of about a grand. In 2006 all S-line models were fitted with the exterior pack as standard equipment. So some people will own proper S-Line models (black head lining, Half leather seats, dropped suspension, 18" alloys, S-Line badges) but still have Standard/SE/Sport model bumpers. Hope that clears up the confusion.

so an early s-line grill will fit to a standard se bumper..?....i think

Also the rear spoiler was optional on early S lines so apart from the alloys and the 3/4 badges, its difficult to identify a genuine early s line from the outside.

The exterior S line pack you mention was indeed the Votex kit we all know and love/hate and was offered as a prmotion on the 3.2 S-lines for free as people didnt like the fact their top of the range model looked very similar to all the others. Thats why if you see a votex kit on an A3, it tends to be on a 3.2.

Yeah mine is 55reg but has the half leather, black head lining etc. My RNS-e comes this week, once it is all fitted i've heard mentioned it needs to be programmed? Is this correct, i have the MF steering wheel and the Driver display if that makes a difference.
Cheers

I think it would cost him an absolute fortune to have his car converted to quattro if it isn't and 2nd he has a quattro badge so maybe it is quattro so that's kinda weird to just keep saying the same thing on every thread is this an automated thread answer .......

Have you read this thread Katie its about what he wants to do to his car he already has it and there's pics below please be a little more positive and constructive rather than ...its got to be quattro ...its got to be qauttro..its got to be quattro.....
Its starting to sound like you have dementia or are you really a dalek ????....
QUATTRO QUATTRO KILL EM ALL QUATTRO QUATTRO KILL EM ALL.....:scared2:

haha loving the response.

Can anyone recommend a good induction kit and also i'm looking for a HID kit, but i want pure crisp lights if you know what i mean (completely colourless), like OEM Audis and not like the lights which look more blue in color.

Cheers guys

The S-line exerior styling pack wasnt the Votex kit. That was a seperate body kit added at the dealers to the existing bumpers as optional extras(dont klnow about being offered for free). The exterior styling kit was always the S-line bumpers you see on pre facelift cars. The votex kit probably sold well when the owner picked the car up and found it looked just like any other A3, them got the dealer to add it.
