F1 Season 2009

Lier Lewis Clearly had no fuel on board to get into Q3 and been almost last outta the 10 proved it really.

You are actually the liar, Liar Reptor245 for calling him Lier Lewis because he ain't a lier...:p

Quali's getting as exciting as the racing these days.

You're telling me! Its been edge of seat stuff! Its the 3 week gap that I'm not looking forward to!

Lewis Clearly had no fuel on board to get into Q3 and been almost last outta the 10 proved it really.

If you've been watching F1 as long as you say you have, then you'd know that ALL drivers have no fuel in Q2 to get into Q3 lol.

I knew the Red Bulls would be light. When Horner said that they went for an aggressive stratergy only tells me one thing... light! The Brawns have some 16kg on them. Any one else that didnt have a shot a pole, just went heavy which you'd expect. Alonso was lighter than I thought he'd be. Lightest of the lot. Hats off to Renault for working over time on getting that diffuser on! :hi:

reptor245, quick question...are you British?

Yup, Born and bred in Britain for all of 35 yrs. Oh and I am white if that clears things up. Anyways before you accuse me of been racist. I’m not saying i hate lewis, its his LIAR attitude that i dont like and from read the last few post, not everyone likes him either but yet willnobby picks me up for it. Funny really how he slagged me off for saying adrian newey leaving is the reason Mclaren are *****, then he made a ****** wise crack about red bull winning nothing and yet there on pole and the pole sitter won last year
.

LEWIS HAMILTON last night refused to confirm that he is staying at McLaren after team chief Ron Dennis quit F1.

The British ace was asked if he would see out the remaining four years of his £75million deal with the team.

not everyone likes him either but yet willnobby picks me up for it.

You know I'm up for healthy debates and all that. At the end of the day you can call Hamilton what you want, but the 'willnobby' thing is a bit too far if you ask me dude. As far as I know, nobody here has been calling you names so let keep this clean between us. If Hamilton is a liar, money grabber, arrogant... whatever. We could be going round in circles throughout the whole year! Some people like him, others dont. Lets all agree to disagree. :beerchug:

Also, to your link... no offence but its from The Sun. lol I swear, most of the time they make up stories for the hell of it. Martin Whitmarsh said that Lewis will be honoring his contract and wont be leaving before then. I know that it could be just words to get the media off his back. Time will tell I guess.

Tomorrows race should be awesome. Light RBR's vs the Brawns should be a good battle. How quick are them RBR's going to be once they have the diffuser on as well?! I think they'll be the ones to beat in the middle of the season. All depends on how well Brawns develop their car.

Oh and reptor, like the pic. Whenever I see that it cracks me up! lol :lmfao:

Yeah, cracks me up that one,
DBXdarkangel/Man of Mystery/reptor 24(banned)/reptor245,
When you were churning out the same garbage last season about Hamilton.
Here's an idea, come on here when you want to have something good to say about F1, & when hamilton is winding you up go on one of the hamilton hate sites to air your views about him.

reptor, like the pic. Whenever I see that it cracks me up! lol :lmfao:

Hehe yeah it was funny ;-)

Not sure what willn(A)bby is on tho. Clearly needs anger management :yum:

Seems to get abit pissy when someone disagree`s with him. Shame, Shame, Shame :banghead:
BTW dude, maybe im also Marko? i mean he doesnt like hamilton either so figues i could be him too.

Having not missed a race on 20 years I think Hamilton must be the most dislikable Driver out there. That sucks and so does Shamilton.

yeah figures..err not
Get them alarm clocks set. Early race for those who are gonna watch it live. :rockwoot:

no I don't think your marko but you can't seriously tell me your not all the others I mentioned that just happen to all come from torquay and drive a 1999 1.8t A3 all with the same mods ? And I'm not asking you to agree with me on anything just not to bad mouth people constantly.

Excellent race for Red Bull. Vettel and Webber drove brilliantly, showed Button he's not the only one with a good car!

Great result for both McLarens too! :) What has happened to Ferrari though?

That Red Bull is going to be mighty when they fit the diffuser to it! Vettel is quite something in the wet. I feel sorry for Sutil. Thats twice its gone wrong for him now in the closing stages. If it wasn't for that, Ferrari would have been the only team without points lol. Mind you saying that, they had a great race today. They only had the one DNF, had the right tyres on and only just finished outside the points! Improvement!

GrahamPrice Has the same mods as me and is also from devon. unless thats me too? Stop making an *** outta yourself and just watch the races. Apparently red bull cars ARE winning races :p

Shall we shake hands an get back to F1 debates m8ty? :iagree:

Stupid question.... but did you have a good time? Was a great race to go to eh?!

On the Hamilton subject, I'd say that it was the right decision. There was a lot of confusion between both drivers and teams (you can hear the radio convos between both drivers and their teams on the net somewhere). I think the way Hamilton chose his words when he went to the stewards the first time is what got him disqualified. If he was straight with them, he would have been demoted back down to 4th. But because he said that Trulli overtook him, rather than 'I let him overtake me' is what sealed his fate.

Hi lil coz and the rest of you guy's

Sorry for my late reply but I've only just got back from my trip! Seems like I've been away for so long!!

Race day was amazing, the atmosphere was fantastic, the weather was really hot and we had a great view of the track. It was soooo good to hear the noise of those cars again :). I would certainly recommend going there to watch it. I only went on race day as I didn't want to be there for all 3 days as it would have meant me missing out on other things around Melbourne but I only paid £50 for my ticket.

Plus on the way home we went to Dubai for 3 days and when we went to leave to fly back to Manchester they had over booked the flight. So we stood down as they offered to put us up in a hotel for one more night and give us free return flights back to Dubai to be used anytime in the next 12 months! Thinking of using them to go back at the end of October for the Abu Dhabi GP!

Here's a few more images.

Thats alright isn't it?! Come again eh?! lol £50 for a raceday ticket is really good. Bit of a treck to get there but when you get free flights thrown in I suppose it isn't all bad! lol Glad you had a good time fella :icon_thumright:

Thats just to stand at the side of the track tho right? just like the cheap seats at silverstone.

I remember about 10 years ago when it cost something like £95 for a general ticket on Sunday alone at Silversone! Then they changed it to £99 for the 3 day ticket. So do they now do single day tickets again? And £50 grandstand tickets at that?

they was doing cheap one day tickets just after last years GP but now its so close then ther emuch more in cost. But having been there myself in the grandstand for 3 day ticekts then i wouldnt recomend the general admition tickets. The viewing area is **** and you have to que up at 6am to get in forst to get a good spot. ive bought the Gold Pit Straight A tickets, well worth the money.

The cheapest ticket I can see there is £49 for Friday only. Am I being blind becasue I cant see a General Sunday only ticket...?

The best grandstand to be in is either Luffield B or C. Maybe down at Club too but for me Luffield was always my choice. I also quite liked walking around and watching from different areas. Watching the cars go round Maggots and Becketts was a good spot too. Sitting on a plastic seat for hours just made my *** numb lol. Best place to watch a race tho for atmosphere is on the pit wall. Friggin Awesome just doesn't even come close to it!

It was just a General Admission ticket but as you can see from my photo's I had a fantastic view. You couldn't buy just a Grandstand ticket for 1 day it had to be for all 3 days.

Still a lot cheaper than we get charged over here!!!!!

Well quali wasn't as exciting as it usually is! I've got my money on Vettel again for tomorrow. He's got loads more fuel in than eveyone else around him. I'm suprised the Brwan GP's were as light as they are. They've lost a bit of pace this time round. Should be an interesting race tomo.

its a very interesting season so far.... i like a lot of the new rules but think there are too many of them....ive not read any of this thread so you'll have to excuse if this is being repetitive..... the drivers seem all over the place, obviously so much difference in the cars at the moment and many debates on whats best and whats not.... im still of the mind that they should have certain generic parts to make it closer, at the moment there are guys who have tallent who are doing well and others who are suffering becuase of the technology below them..... yeah maybe it adds to the fun but it falls so easily into technology against technology race which is great but it shouldnt be the main part of what is regarded a race

I've got to say that I'm liking all the new rules. Its really shaken things up. I've been against the whole medal system so I'm quite happy that its been put to the side for the time being. The only parts that I think they should make generic, are things like the ECU, telematry, or other electrical bits and pieces. All the teams have very differently designed cars to one another and the grid is still closer than its ever been. Things need a good shake up every now and then to shuffle the pack. Before the new rules, the cars couldn't be made to go any quicker. They were developed to such a stage where they all looked pretty much the same and any 'major development' did very little to lap times.

Yes Vettel is a very good driver, I think most of the top half of the field drove good today.

Was a solid race from Button today. Them Brawns seem to have the edge a bit when it comes down to the whole weekend. Brains of Brawn I guess! McLaren seems to have found their feet a bit. Still a whole lot of catch up to play though. I'm hoping Ferrari can get that diffuser on by next race and sort out their problems with the KERS. Its forever going wrong! Not as smooth with their pitstops either now. Got a feeling it will be a long season for them. I can see Vettel being a future champ. He's got that certain something. He and Lewis will be having a few good battles for a long time!

so mclaren have got away with it as it seems. No real surprise there then. Lets face it, if they had banned Mclaren and lewis for 3 races, they would have lost soo much money and bad publicity not to mention lost sponsors and the sponsors companys would be damaged too.

anyways way heres the INTERNATIONAL SPORTING CODE 151c that they was being hunted down for.

151. Breach of rules
Any of the following offences in addition to any offences

specifically referred
c) Any fraudulent conduct or any act prejudicial to the
interests of any competition or to the interests of motor

sport generally.

Well McLaren did everything they could to show that they were sorry. Going to court with no lawyers at all and say that they are sorry saved their bacon. There was no way they were gonna disqualify them.

At least we can now get back to the racing!

Lets get back to racing then! :racer:

HA! So who was it that slated our very own Button about not winning a race without the help of a safety car? GET IN MY SON! :):racer::)

What's our guesses for this next one then? They all seem to have upgrades coming so will be interesting to see who does what and how much of an advantage the Brawns have left. I think it might still be Brawn and RBR up front. Hoping Ferrari can get some proper points with their new diffuser now!

The FIA are totally ruining F1. They should stop messing with the rules quite so much....it near enough changes from race to race these days!

Bring back the Senna and Mansell years. They never had a problem overtaking! Some great footage of them on youtube

It's a 2 horse race for the title this season I reckon, Button and Vettel, they are going to gain so much points by the time Ferrari and McLaren get upto speed, that no one will catch them in my opinion.

:banghead: Early signs aren't good! :keule:

That's because the cars now are so advanced and the stopping power is immense. The only way to get overtaking is to reduce downforce by another massive chunk and make stopping distances longer. That essentially brings you to the technology 15-20 years ago. They were talking about small capacity turbo engines in practice today and the ability to raise the boost to overtake people. This would give them extra power in the region of 300bhp! :scared2: This coupled with no fuel stops and engine wear means that they would have to use it as much as possible whilst watching their fuel load so that they don't run out by the end of the race and makig their engine last. Should make for some good racing I recon.

I agree. Although Toyota could be in the mix. Maybe even Williams too. They've been threatening but can't convert to points. Going by today's performance, Ferrari and McLaren will be no match for the guys in front for a long time yet!

Question. Why is it that now lewis is doing rubbish. No one on here is talking about him but yet last year there was more people in here than there is people in a ethiopian kitchen on the lewis band-wagon.

anyways nice to see jenson on pole and should be another great race tomo. Woot Woot.

A great quali lap by the top 3 , Jensen only just managed to get that hot lap in but a hot one it was, it's always nice to see the old boy Rubens do well too, he always comes accross as a really nice bloke , as for Lewis quite alot of people other than me have got fed up with the hamilton put downs so it's just easier not to bring him up really & theres not much to say really like the others at the back he has a crap car saying that he's almost always miles ahead of his team mate heikki .

as for Lewis quite alot of people other than me have got fed up with the hamilton put downs so it's just easier not to bring him up really

lol yup. Every time his name is mentioned, it's a potential can of worms. Speaking of crap cars... Ferrari did well with Massa! Of course having a completely **** up free weekend was too much to ask! lol I think he may be a dark horse for tomorrow. He should have the jump on a couple considering the guys infront don't have KERS and its a long run to the first corner. He's got a few laps more than the guys infront so if he can manage to stay with them, he's in with a shot I recon.

The top 3 made it interesting in the last minute didn't they? Great lap from Button. Came from nowhere! Should be a good race tomorrow. Hopefully there won't be any rain!

?

You mean Jenson. :p

Would be nice if he won the championship this year after all the hard work he put in over the years and not to mention it just goes to show what brawn can do. Funny how ferrari are doing ***** now he`s left tho. Yeah last years car was good just like Mclarens but they was both a tweaked version of what Brawn did at ferrari and Adrian newy did at Mclaren. They left and now the teams were they are now and Clearly the best cars out there. Hence P1 and P2
Now they have to build cars from scratch. Its clear what teams now have the "Brawn" and the "Brains" :)

Spot on. Thats what I think too. Ferrari was showing signs of a car that was good today but what they are REALLY suffering from is decisions and strategy. Brawn is the best for that and its shows now. Ferrari are making such sloppy mistakes its unreal! And since Brawn left, their reliability went downhill too. Ah well, at least now I can't be called a glory hunter!
