Hey everyone, new guy here. I just stumbled across your forum last night. Spent sometime lurking around and came to like the community you guys have here, figured I'd sign up and introduce myself

I'm located in the US, but noticed that there are a lot of UK members here... which I like. It's pretty refreshing to stumble upon new things here and there as opposed to the typical style tuning I see here in the states.

As for my car(s), I've got an 01.5 pearl S4. It's got a few goodies on it, trying to keep it clean and simple as I work my way up to stage 3. I'm also owner to a jet black E46 328i. It was my previous project before picking up the B5. As opposed to the S4, I modified the E46 a bit more aggressively. I know this is an Audi enthusiast forum, but I appreciate and have love for both Audi and BMW.

Anyway, I just wanted to quickly introduce myself and let you guys know I think you have a great forum here. I can't wait to start posting and participating more. I didn't want this thread to be a total waste, so I'll include a few random pics of both my cars. :rockwoot:

Hi mate,

Welcome to the forum!

Sweet couple of cars you have there! I like the rear lights on the S4, where'd you get them?

Thanks. The rear tails are actually just the stock US lights. I did however apply a 35% tint to the reverse strip. Did it myself, pretty simple and straight forward. Just picked up the tint for cheap at a local shop, measured, cut it to shape, and applied it. Being that the tint was applied to the outside of the lights, I was a bit worried they might not last through the harsher elements, but after driving around all winter through the snow and salt, they held up just fine :icon_thumright:

Oh and Welcome

Wow your S4 looks so clean. Those pics show off the colour very well, looks lovely.

Thanks

Go for it, it's pretty cheap and easily reversible in case you end up not liking how it looks. Here's another pic showing the tails from farther away, this was before I installed my catback...

The color on the car is Audi's standard pearl white here in the US; was it not available in the UK?

Sadly, I don't have any pics of the interior yet, but I'll be sure to snap some next time I go for a shoot. I have a black leather interior, but haven't done much to it yet. However, it does have the AWE pedal set, AWE boost gauge, OEM alcantara RS4 shift knob and B6 auto-dimming rearview mirror. I'll be adding an alcantara boot soon to match the knob, as well as replacing the interior trim kit with CF. Other than that, you'll also spot my hard-wired Valentine1 radar detector and a Lidatek LE-30 anti-laser system. I also have a SmarTire system installed, so that monitor is also visible from inside the car. Sometime down the road, I'll most likely swap out my seats as well.

The S4 is beautiful. And my fav wheels too.

Thanks for visiting here and making my day with those lovely pics

I dont think that color was available here. I've certainly never seen one that color here!

It looks awesome!

That's one seriously mean looking S. What brakes are you running? They look like they could stop the earth rotating!

Hi butty thats a nice s4 you have there one of the best ive seen so far,,,,,,,,,,
Love your car,,,,,,,,
Love the US
Welcome to the forum

i just start lovin the cactus green then someone like you comes along with a mint white s4 and completely messes it up for me! lol

love the audi, a lot! that BM looks soooo evil at the front end with the CSL bumper though, just wish it was a coupe! that pic from the front is just missing a cage and buckets, moody as you like! :D

Yeah man. Welcome. Great pics. Both cars! Like mentioned above. Lovin the colour of the S4!

WOW!!!

Your car is beautiful!

I have no more to say about it :)

Welcome to the forum. Whereabouts in the States are you?

Car looks phenomenal.

I now want a US spec "trunk" lid....

Wow, thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I appreciate it guys. I'm glad some of you like the color as much as I do. I almost settled on getting a nogaro blue S4, which I also love, but after searching high and low around here, I found a pearl B5 just like I wanted. Although an option here, pearl is also one of the rarer colors to have. I'm actually surprised a couple of you weren't familiar with the color. I was under the impression that it was common color offered in the UK.

Thanks man. I'm running the StopTech ST-40 kit with 355mm front / 328mm rear slotted rotors, with the ST-10 ebrake kit equipped.

Haha, thanks, it's funny you say that considering I'd kill to get a nice deal on a euro spec trunk lid, not to mention the euro rear bumper :anbet:. I'm located in the northeastern part of the US in Connecticut.

I thought it had that North-East, Atlantic coast look to it. My first guess was Maine. Your car really brightens the place up!

If it wasn't for the logistical nightmare I'd willingly do a trunklid / bootlid international exchange....

Very true. Being that this is mostly a UK based community, it might give me a chance to find some nice rare parts we can't get over here in the states. I'm so glad I found this forum :yahoo:

Sounds like you have a shopping list like most of us on here. And to think my plan was to get this car as a daily hack. The wife made me promise not to modify it. Whoops!

How does the US back bumper differ from the European item?

Welcome aboard bud.

Pearl white was last offered here on the B3 Coupe quattro, and first saw light of day in the Ur quattro from the 1985 model year.

I have ibis white and love it, and now you come up with this pearl cream color which is a speechless color.

I can't say anything but, D-D-D-DAMN!

beautifull S4 mate, nice and subtle jus how the S4 should look, i must say my fav colour is the noggy blue which i got mine in but seein yours in pearl i must admit suits the S4 to a T.............well done mate!!

i mite tint my rear reverse light jus how you got yours, looks good.

Welcome mate. Your S4 is stunning and makes me wish I had kept hold of my B5....not that I would give up the S3 though LOL. Enjoy the forum and thanks for showing your photos.

Thanks again everyone. And let me just say this... :footy: <-- best smiley ever!!! lol, I love football and seeing that smiley just made my day.

Same here... the S was to be just my "simple" daily, but that didn't turn out too well haha. In regards tot he rear bumper, if you notice in the pic I posted above of my rear, my rear is a 2 piece bumper, with a separated add-on attached tot he bottom, where as the euro rear is 1 piece, with a small diffuser...

Wasn't aware of that, thanks for the heads up. :icon_thumright:

nice cars.

looking at the last pic of your S4 you are running pretty tight to the arches (fenders) at the rear.
what wheel and tyre size combo is that? lower offset or just 9" rears? does it rub at all?
looks good

The last pic isn't his car Ed. His is white remember! :sm4:

I think a lot of the US guys like the look of the Euro style rear bumper. Are there no aftermarket US kits which are just the removable lower section in a Euro style? Certainly seems to be a market for it.

I wish there were... at least any that I like. All the add-ons available are a bit too aggressive to flow well with the clean subtle lines of the rest of the car. There isn't one that mimics the euro rear quite well. There is one that comes pretty close, but it fits pretty horribly from what I've gathered.

No worries, although the car I posted isn't my own. However, I still know what setup he is running. At that time, his car was sitting on BBS LMs, 18x8 in the front with 215/40 tires and 18x9.5 rear wrapped in 245/35s He now runs OZ futuras

Thanks. Wow, you guys don't have casa either? You're missing out. I remember seeing your car with 19" CHs, correct? I'm assuming you're the same stapo who posts on AZ...? Looked good. I ran a search for your posts not too long ago to find pics of your car since I've been considering getting a Dietrich RS4 front. Hows it been holding up?

NICEST B5 IV SEEN !!
haha, appreciate it man, but there's nicer B5s than mine :sm4:
