wot do you guys think i should do?

Build your car for yourself mate. You're the one that has to drive it.

I get slated a lot form the RS badge on my A4 but it's water of a ducks back as I like it

i prefer no badges.. makes people wonder ..."WTF is that that just shot past!?"

"badges!?...we don't need no stinking badges!" (name that film)

JCB. I think when there are no badges it looks like either it's been crashed, repaired and they lost the badges or, is he/she trying to pretend his 1.6 A3 is really a 3.2 Quattro.

Good idea though why not stick a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 Badge on the S4, that would confuse people...

Or better idea why not just leave what should be on there on there?:sign_omg:

I've got the B6 badge (believe it was also standard fit on the last B5 S4's built) on as it's pretty obvious what the car is. Not many people recognise the original badge.

There was a guy with a 450+bhp S4 who used to drive it round with a TDi badge and a towbar to give people behind a bit of a shock!

thats the whole point.
it is none of the "driver behind me"'s business what I drive...
not trying to make it look like something its not.
there are plenty of chav's sticking M badges on their 316i to fill that gap.

I have a Mk5 GT Sport Golf (diesel), first thing I got the garage to do is remove the rearbadges. looks much cleaner....and it amuses me when it worries Gti's

i was polishing the car and the weekend and on looking at the scabby tarnished "A4" badge i dug the plastic scraper out and peeled it off on a whim.

5 minutes picking the adhesive off and another few minutes buffing the area with paint restorer and i recon it does look a bit neater on that side now.

Cant decide if i want to pull the 1.8T and Audi rings off too though. Perhaps removing the 1.8T and leaving the rings is the way to go?

That's my plan too.. Remove all of the rear badges except the rings. I think it looks tidy but I suppose it's all down to personal preference.

Maybe I'm more of a snob that I thought I was. My dad and I were having this conversation the other day, whether he should debadge his E39 540i. I said no, because then it would look like all the other 530s and 525is out there.

Certainly, if I were Siena I'd be sticking a 4.2 badge from an A8 on his, in recognition of all the man hours he's put in...

^^^I've actually got "4.2" and the thin "quattro" badge for mine, for when the engine goes in.

I ordered it for a 2004 Audi S8.

im taking all the badges off mine to paint the boot and think i might just put the sengs on and leave the rest other than maybe the quattro one.i do fancy putting just the early s4 badge on but im not sure yet.can you get the bades like that but without s4 on them?

i've looked, as i'd really like a audi sport badge like the one in the steering wheel for the rear, however they're simply not available.

thats exactly what i want.just that in the corner and the rings in the middle where they are anyway.

i personally like my OEM S4 badge but lookin to get a couple of new ones but i like the B6 badges too but hopefully ill come to a decision when i get myself an RS4 grille.

On a side note, does anyone know where to get the little audi sport steering wheel badge mines knackerd (not got much red left on it and a dent in it!) but they are £21 on ebay!!!

That's not a bad idea. I could legitimately do that to mine....

ditto, i would be interested in an audi sport badge without the S4 bit on it!

The "B6" badge really isn't just for the B6 like some might believe. Model years 2001.5-2002 B5 S4s came standard with that badge from the factory. Technically, it's a "B5" badge ;)

i've removed my a4 an 1.8t badges and left the rings on and i think it looks bang on. i've also got a s4 on the bottom right of the boot.

the way i look at it is if you know your audi's then you know its in the wrong place if not then you should guess what i have under the boot.

first there is a thread on here bout the plan audi sport bagdes. they are avalible. as for the bagde on the steering wheel your best bet maybe a breakers if you can get it off. the ebay ones i found where second rate when i got it. so sent it back.

Stick a 1.6 badge on it..... I am a badgless guy but then i find the 1.8t tends to make people think its fast, its supposed to be a comfotable cruiser. Just so happens to go a bit,lol

Seriously, i would just leave the rings on, thoses that know what it is need no badges, and those that don't know don't need to know

I had a guy in an MR2 turbo offer me a race from some lights. am sure it was down to the "T" in the 1.8T!! (that and the fact that I went round him on the preceeding roundabout!
But come on! Its a silver estate car for gods sakes man! get a grip

they are pretty small.i mean a honda b16 engine is only a 1.6 and n/a and puts out more than a standard 1.8t.

B6 looks nice, or debadge.

"badges!?...we don't need no stinking badges!" (name that film) BLAZING SADDLES!!!!!!

Absolute classic of a film!

Nope... not Blazing Saddles.

"Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges! I don't have to show you any stinkin' badges!"

It actually originates from The Treasure of the Sierra Madre with Humphrey Bogart - it's a common misconception that it originates from Blazing Saddles. It's one of the most frequently mis-quoted passages in movie history... apparently!

Check me out! It came from Wikipedia though... lol

Oh... and I'd go with the original 'old school' badge. I much prefer that one. :racer:

i think im gona stick with my original badge, i think it has that little bit more class/subtleness to it so im gona get some fresh new ones on her.

ah but mine was the shorter funnier version.
Mel Brooks parodied many well known Westerns with the script for Blazing Saddles.
In Blazing Saddles they just say:
"Badges!? We don't need no stinking badges!"

classic indeed
