Conversion from pre-facelift double grill bumper to facelift S-line bumper

I thought you'd enjoy that one, but really this guy was doing some purple hearts from he 70's man to think anyone is that gullible, maybe a supercar grill badge is £1400 but an audi s3 bumper, which parallel universe is he in

well I can say weather sucks in italy at moment, bored shitless tbh
 
just put offer of £150 on S3 bumper. He's asking £300 - almost as bad as the other guy as its for 2nd hand with slight damage LOL. Not fussed at the moment unless its cheap lol. Hey dude, if its crappy weather there is always the skiing or boarding???

Get a quote from audi mate, if you get good discount you will get a brand new one primmed one form Audi for £200
 
Stafford Audi quoted me £233. Hes also having a laugh thinking he can get £300 for a second hand damaged one!

In the end I never bothered because i picked all this up for £250 and its Akoya silver so no painting needed for my car, just got to get my Votex splitter and skirts painted and i'll do it all on one day over Xmas holidays

they counter offered it for £200 but as Matt says I can buy new with at least 10% off and have no postage costs delivered to my door/work..

Not sure if anyone can help,

We have a Sinle Grille 2005 model Sport,

I have the Following to fit -

Sline Front
Sline Rear
Sline Spoiler
18'' RS6s
Sline Grille
Eibach Sportlines


The front apron came with the fogs suppied, i have purchased the fog surrounds for the sline apron,

My question is will the Fogs just simply plug in front the excisting sports fogs to the Sline fogs?

hope someone can help as i plan on fitting it all on Xmas eve for a present for the girlfriend.
 
Uh no you need new plugs if they're different shape fogs to the sports fella, they're dirt cheap & you can either buy repair wires or remove pins & stick in new plug, easy job.

So just order the Fog Light Plugs for the Sline fogs then maybe just link the wires?

Also have some Half Leather S-Line Seats so should be a good change,

Only think it will need is the Black roof lining which im not sure what kind of job that is :S
 
where did you guys all get your front bumpers? straight from audi?
 
Is it less than 300 for everything brand new from audi or am i not getting something ?

No, the bumper is MRP £244 then you will have grill, fogs & surrounds. If you have a pre-facelift you will also need a new bonnet too plus the S3 bumper will have holes for the Xenon headlight washers so caps at the very least will be needed. I asked where he got it from? And saying how the price worked out that much? And basically told him the price of every part on the bumper lol with part numbers and said i'd give him £150 for it lol! He said he keep it in mind but had bigger offers! haha funny guy.
Yeah i hate it when people say they have s-line front bumpers and there standard! And they priced them at like £200!

If your taking about going from the double grill to the single grill, yes they are in the same place. You will need a bumper with the cut outs for the washer, your best bet is audi. A bumper primed etc from audi is around £200
 
You might have to replace the hoses given the route they take on the single grill as I did, I just got some jubilee clips & some small hosepipe from local diy store, just make sure the internal diameter matches the old pipe given design of the system etc, I used a thin smaill pipe inside a much thicker one to add further protection & works a dream, the washers are only screwed in place anyway so simple to remove & add to new bumper.
 
I've been in contact with Newcastle-AUDI regarding the conversion and they seem to be a little unsure as to what is required.

I have an A3 3.2 Quattro S-line (2004) and they believe I need to purchase the following:

BONNET
GRILLES
HEADLIGHTS
FOG LIGHTS
BUMPER

At a cost of £1138.35 INC VAT before painting and fitting and they cant guarantee the parts will fit and on top of the above I may need to purchase new wings.

They also said that the parts need to be the exact parts for a face lifted A3 3.2 S-Line, is this true? or will any facelift A3 bumper, bonnet, grill fit (providing it is from/for a 2005-2007/8 model)?

And, do I really need new headlights and fog lights too?

I'm currently awaiting exact part numbers to be forwarded which I'll post here.

I converted my 2004 from double to single.

Just needed a new bonnet, bumper and grill. Headlights should be gine as long as you're putting the older style s-line grill on (eg not the very latest one).

You'll need new fogs though as different wiring iirc.

Sorry, did all mine from Ebay, except the bonnet. Do a search there was a thread called useful part numbers on here a while back which had every part listed.

Alternatively just look at cars for sale on pistonheads which have the bumper, bonnet & grill you need, take note of the reg number & ring audi parts quoting that reg. They can then easily find the bits on their system.
 
recently done mine you will need
bumper
bonnet
fog left
fog right
single grill
fog cover left
fog cover right
fog repair wires
and possibly a side reinforcment bar dependant on model
ps these are sline part req
pps well worth the money to do mine cost approxx 750 inc paint

Thats correct the bumpers are the same.
So for an example say i had an 3door 2003 1.9TDI Sport but i wanted an S-line look. Saw a 3door 2007 A3 2.0T FSI S-line bumper on ebay that would fit my car. Only thing is, I think maybe 5doors may be different to 3door but not 100% sure on that and i could be wrong. Sure some one will correct me soon.

There a few S-line bumpers on ebay should be able to get it all done under £600. Going to cost me less than £550 For an S3 front which is nearly done just needs painting and fitting and it all be under £550 new bumper and used bonnet.

Dont listen to the guy at Audi they dont have a clue. they dont differ other than what i've said regarding 3door and 5 door. I'm sure a few other members would agree aswell?

The Sline conversion is very nice I like the Sline front bumper a lot. I also did the pre-face to facelift sline bumper upgrade and I dident have to change the aluminium bar or anything else just put the new bumper and bonnet on place. Very easy :D
