Hey Guys. Quick question for any IT people out there...

I've got windows XP and I noticed a couple of days ago that some of the files in my folders are now in blue writing rather than the usual black. I can access the files ok, everything else seems to be ok, except now they are in blue. Its only on some of the files as well. Any ideas?

Sounds like you have set them to archive.. It's nothing exciting, just means that as you havnt used the files in a while the system has automatically archived them.

They should still be available as normal..

If you would rather it didn't do it (not sure why you wouldn't want it) you can right click on the drive and click properties, then switch it off.

Can't provide exact description, as I use Linux and not Windows.

Seriously though - it's nothing to worry about :)

they are compressed files because maybe you have hard drive compression enabled

Thanks guys! 1 more question...

Are they archived or compressed? lol Or is that the same thing?
