Spent a couple of hours at a Powerflow stockist today and I'm pretty pleased with the reults!!! :)

Heres how it was...

Wheels needed a refurb to make them mint and being a diesel it didn't have the nice cutouts and exhaust pipes on show like the petrols : (

So, picked up a cheapy cheap rear valance from good old ebay but it had seen better days so a quick bit of filling and sanding and a few coats of satin black paint and it was as good as new! Decided on new RS4 reps as they worked out cheaper than a refurb!!! Only thing left to do was decide on which tailpipes to have so here u go.....

On the ramps...

I'm over the moon with it!!! The exhaust was done for looks over any power gain and is only a tad louder than the standard and I think the wheels really freshen it up. Just got to debadge the boot and give the paintwork at bit more spit and polish and I'll be happy (oh and the rns install!)

:):):):blackrs4::):):)

looks great, though I think all your missing is an S4 grill. . . like the one iv got for sale ! ;)

Hi Mo, Yes mate they are 18's. It already had the 18" BBS alloys on and it had had four new tyres just before I bought it so it was just a tyre changeover. Would've liked some 19's but hey, sensible head has to go on occasionally!

The tips are oval (ish!) slash cut, I'll get some better pics of it and post em up.

Oh and forgot to say in original post, as wheel offsets seem to be discussed on a regular basis, these are offset ET42. :)

Looks really really nice I bet you are well chuffed :o.k:

Did they literally just cut the old downward pointing tips off and weld the new ones on? What size are the tips, diameter?

They can do that but I had two new backboxes as well. I was hoping for a little bit of a growl but apparently the submarine sized middle box puts paid to that! As to the size, I think they are aound 4 1/2 x 3? Can't actually see them on the Powerflow site, but I'll measure them and get some close up pics of them.

Oh, and yes, I'm REALLY chuffed with it, its amazing how a couple of hours and a few quid(!) have turned a nice car inot a bit of a headturner! lol

thanks for the nice comments everyone

I was thinking about this mod, but how does it cope on the diesel smoke?

I had a trip chasing my own car while I was driving a friend's A3, just to check what it looked like.... acceptable, but not 100% smoke free when he was really giving it the beans, so I wasn't sure what open pipes would look like on that.

Wouldn't induciton help more with the "growl"?

I don't think that you want exhaust "growl", 'cos that'll just become a drone on the motorway, but induction "growl" will only be noticable on accelleration (i.e. when it's pulling in more air)...

Obviously you're going to get a bit more smoke out of them due to the soot but I think the rear of the diesels just doesn't look right all closed in.

Don't think I'll be going down the induction route....I really couldn't put up with the noise anymore! As for the exhaust, growl was probably the wrong word to use, burble would be better lol just wanted a little bit there....

Yeh I had similar mod done. on My V6 TDI Quattro am pleased with it too. finished the look of the car with the exits on view.

With a diesel induction noise is continuos as theres no throttle flap
it becomes a horrible drown (not nice ) .

wheel and exhaust look the dogs

paul20v - you're probably right on that.... I'm still relatively new to the world of TDI... my comments are based purely on my Golf (NA petrol).... my A4 (TDI) is still 100% factory....

6 weeks down the line... still pleased with it??

Oh yes mate :) ...just replied to your pm bud ;)
