Ahhhhhhhh bistro, you have a good point tbh, depends if they're recessed & have holes, need to check with etka & elsa unless anyone's taken one of, I'm guessing audi have painted the whole sides & then put them on so maybe minimal work afterall, something to consider.
Even with no holes or recess tho, i'd imagine there would be serious paint discolouration (sp again) under the strip...... Age of car dependent of course!!
I'm sure its just a lacquer issue tbh that G3 could sort out, now you got me wondering if I can just take it of, wtf why do you guys do this to me I have a big enough list already, lol
Thats a serious job and not for the faint hearted! Most people will just fill the recess and blend it in however over time the constant slamming of the door makes it crack out, then it looks toss. To do it properly you need to fill it with metal and thats a job for an expereienced metal worker. Its the main reason you rarely see a mk4 golf without its rub strips.

Anyway I forgot to ring about those poxy wings today, damn it, reason why I wanted wider is when I got my A3 I had the spacers of my S4 still & I stuck them on the A3 which of course they rubbed but the stance was lovely man, almost looked as wide as the scirocco if you get me, only needs about 20mm at rear, fronts not needed cause they already look good on my 45 ofset.

I have been contemplating cut & weld/shape to an oem style mate as some I've seen either look to boxy or rounded of like duncan goodhews head, lol
I want just slighter 20mm or so arches, can only get really with either new wider wings from osir or do a personal mod

nothelle do a kit with wider arches but id like them to blend in a tad more they still look ok though.....im just not sure who sells nothelle

a sporback nothelle i think the wheels are wack but with the right wheels and osir skirts this could look so much different i think it would look nice you stick the arches on and cut the old ones off theres a thread on this actual car somewhere but you get the gist........

yeah its a pretty good kit although i cant find where you buy the damn things but the arches are pretty nice on that sportback id just have different wheels and skirts..............heres the thread how he done the car arches etc.
