*** UPDATE ***

Now up for sale. Looking for £8,995.
Mileage is 48K, 1 previous owner.
6months tax, 10 months MOT.

-------------------------------

Thought i'd post some pics of the car.
It's a 2005 2.0TDi sport.

I'd planned to keep it standard, but soon got the modding bug after joining ASN.

So far I've added 19" RS6 reps shod with Pirelli 225/35 ZR19 P-Zero Nero.
Sourced some coilovers from the bay - must say they're doing the job nicely so far.
I've wrapped the chrome grill in black vinyl, de-badged the rear and added some Lamin-X tint.

Trial fitted the cupra R splitted today, but not sure I like the way it sits with the pre-facelift bumper.

Looking for idea's on what to do next, so suggestions welcome!!

Cheers!
Don.

love it ,very nice im loving the drop just the right hight for me that ..i got rid of them wheels in 18 but there really nice in 19 as the women say one inch is everything lol ..... what makes the coils? the give us a little description on the ride is it comfy etc .....

Looking at the 3rd picture down you could do with some spacers on the rears. Might have a bit of rubbage though seeing as your running so low.

Motor looks cool though and the RS6's in 19"s look great.

Yeah i know what you mean re modding after joining ASN, Mines used to be nice and standard and now i,ve got the moddin bug! the wife aint too happy but its for her car so she should be!
The facelift front should be the next mod imo!

Cheers for the comments guys!
The coilovers are TA Tecknik. As said, only £250 so wasn't expecting too much! However, I'm real surprised with 'em. The ride is actually very good. Sure it's firm and a little bouncy on b roads but over-all it's comparable with my last car - a 2006 Civic Type R.

It's a diesel after all so no racing or track action for this car.
So getting the right look was my main aim.
Other coilies (AP, Weitec etc) only go -60mm which wasn't enough for me. These are good for a quoted -110mm and theres about another 40mm of thread left on the fronts...

but if you look at pic 2 he looks close to the sides ???

Hey mate, Car looks awesome. Love it when a Maurit Blu's modded!
The drops damm low aswell, dont think i'd be able to get off my driveway with that!

Im dropping mine in the summer and will put the BBS reps in bout a month.

Get a Miltek on the back and remap the TDI. YOU WILL LOVE IT FOREVER. HA

Wow, that is awesome! Loving the black grille. Have you thought about making the section between the 2 grilles black also?

yeah i noticed that on a few cars with them in 19s they look huge and nice too

I think the tyres help make the rims look so big.
The pirelli's seem to curve away from the rim giving the impression that the profile is even smaller.

Wiper removal is next for sure.
However still can't decide on a roof spoiler.
Is there any good comparison pictures between s-line and votex??

how did you manage to wrap the chrome grill, and what is the light beam like at night now you have lamin-x on?

car looks stunnin mate!

The laminx is "tint" and the light at night is really good.
Quite clever stuff really... Just beware that when buying the pre-cut stuff from the lamin-x website, the fog light pieces are too small. I think they're cut for 06> S-line fogs rather than pre-facelift sport fogs.

Gotta thank boydie for the vinyl wrap idea.
He wrote a great "how to" post which tells everything you need to know.
Basically, remove both grills then remove the chrome trim (carefully).
You then simply stretch the vinyl over the chrome like a big sticker.
It's good stuff to work with as it's kinda stretchy. For me it's better than painting as it won't chip and looks identical to the black plastic of the grill.

yea, thats the first time ive ever seen it done n im going to do it now! just gotta know how to first! lol, does look spot on, especially with the lamin-x headlights, id does look good with the splitter on too

yea please do mate, i wana do mine now but dont know how to. n knowing me, il give it a go n bugga it up!

i just been having a play with photoshop, one has a blackend grill and lightly tinted headlights n other is standard, what looks best?!

what website do you buy it from, can you only get the precut stuff from the US

Least I know what color my next car's going to be... Looks the badgers mate, you should be well pleased with your self :)

Got mine from lamin-x.com
Shipping took around 2wks as it's from the US.

As I said tho, when buying the pre-cut stuff the fog lights on my sport were larger than the pieces they provided. Maybe a US spec thing? Or the fact the website only listed 06 onwards which may have different fogs??

Either way, you can't tell that the fogs have a little untinted area around edges!

I'm gonna apply some vinyl between the two grills this weekend - See how it looks. It may give the look of the single grill, or it may just look naff.

I'm actually quite liking the double grill look.
Looks a bit euro / oldskool if you catch my drift....

Wheels look mint that big, lights look cool too.

Looks great fella - wheels look massive
I have the 18" on but got my eye on a set of genunie Audi 19" RS6 alloys
The grille looks good too - Yeah Boydie photo write up would be the way forward.

Keep modding it is the way forward

If your looking at the 5 spoke old RS6 shape (same wheel as your current 18 only bigger) Then they wont go on the A3, the offset on the genuine ones it something silly like ET20 so they will stick out big style on yours.

no they are on a friends A3 presume bought at an extra will be in need of new tryes soon and i think they will be shocked at the price of replacing new tryes - lol
