Which new Spring and Brakes?

Hello everybody,

Right, already had my 2L TDI Quattro Sport remapped with the ST3 and currently have it on the 'Race' mapping, which i am very happy with .

(If you have any questions about the race/fast road map feel free to ask)

Though since having this i have noticed my brakes are not really up to par. The other day with 4 ppl in the car the stopping distance was unacceptable!

So i'm looking at upgrading my brakes, and was looking for some advice on disks and pads and how much i would be looking at with fitting?

I'm also looking at getting some Eibach Pro springs to lower it about 30mm (if possible) on my current 18" RS6's.

I was thinking to upgrade the breaks too so lets see what we will learn today

If you fit the pro kit you will only see a few mm drop because it's a drop of 30mm from standard n the s line is about 20mm lower so you will see about 10mm drop. have a look on dpm they have the best makes. I am going to fit H&R springs which lower it 35mm. You can fit kw springs which can lower it 40mm or the eibach sportline which are 50mm drop any of the springs you will find a more comfy and stable

Epic's car is a sport, not s-line, so it will drop further with springs.
It will also not be as comfy as std sport suspension which rides rather well.

Just fitted EBC Yellow Stuff Pad's all round on my S3. Work exactly the same as the stock pads when you are gentle with the pedal. Put some boot behind it and they bite very well.

You will need a piston wind back tool to do the rear pads though, as the handbrake thread needs to be wound pack into the calliper for new pads to fit.

Other brake brands such as Ferodo DS2500 may work as well.

Sorry didn't read it very well. I have been hearing that the a3 ride much better in lowered springs, my mate has a sport to n fitted lowering springs n it was much smoother. The sport suspension manages to find massive bumps that other cars don't. It's a harsh, stiff ride

Talk with Damian@dpm about suspension upgrades as he's the man for it, I recommend the Eibach Pro 30mm with the Koni FSD shocks, did on my sport tdi & its a much better ride/height, looks good man.

The oem sport suspension isnt stiff/hard, its just damn bouncy on bumpy roads, new suspension resolved that so much better.

See I find my a3 sport very stiff. Like if I'm talking my voice goes all shakey from the harsh ride? Maybe summin is startin to go like my shocks maybe or it's just the shocking roads here! Nhn what are your thoughts on the H&R 35mm springs?

If I'm honest couldnt really say as nearly all the guys I know on here have had the eibach pro's, they're just a great spring mate, great height & ride comfort is very good along with no bounce anymore, price wise aswell one of the cheaper better mods.

Yea I was looking at them but wanted something a little lower, don't suppose you could put a pic of your car up side view for me? I've been looking around sometime and someone showed me a pic of their a3 with the pro kit n it didn't look any different. Cheers

If ur looking for a brake upgrade, you could try new pads and then new brake lines, if you still want more, get the 312mm brakes that r on the gti. All you need is new caliper carriers n new discs, bout £150 mid all in

I also read from another post that if your vehicle is under Warranty Audi would be able to install the parts for you, though it would void your warranty for those parts.

Well if you were near to Damian, he can install I believe, but can do yourself if you have the tools, but I'd still buy them from DPM regardless of who installs & I'd say £100-£150 to fit, of course if audi that would go up.
