The time has finally come to get new tyres! And with them its time to get some light weight alloys!

Just got off the phone to performancealloys.com talking about the due date on the matt black OZ Alleggerita's. They are getting back to me. Though i am a little worried about the offset.

He stated that the standard offset on the S3 is 52, the OZ Alleggerita's have an offset of 48. The reason i am worried it because when i had 10mm spacers on i had rubbing all round on the arches. Even with the small metal screw removed. I know this is only an increase of 4mm but should i be worried?

Should i request an offset of 52 or will 48 be ok?

Thanks in advance!

Pics for pleasures....

The difference of 6mm should make them clear fine.

hey toby just a thought but if you want to save a load of dosh team dynamics do the pro race 1 ,1.2, and 2 that look very simlar to them and are lightweight to the only real difference is the centre cap....and you should be able to get the right offset in these to

pretty sure the std offset is ET56, I'm running 8.5x19 MTMs with an offset of of ET45 with no issues, std ride height though.

you will be fine with ET48 I should think, depends how low you are I suppose

I may be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure Team Dynamics only make wheels in 18" and smaller?

they do a 20 inch aswell in that style... 19s in other styles but he want 18s anyhow ....atleast thats what he,s put at the bottom of his page :blow:

Its a good idea..... But i have always wanted to own OZ's..... Its an inner complex!

OZ make some nice rims.

What width are they? That'll make a difference to clearance, as well as the offset.

18x8, thats the same as standard isnt it?

I can't see the standard rims being any wider than 8. If you run this width and offset with 225/40's, then I'd be shocked if you get any rubbing at all.

For OZ, it's worth speaking to both Rimstyle and Revolution, as they both bring them in direct from Italy AFAIK, and they're both top guys to deal with.

A3 offset is between et45-55 so you are fine

10mm spacers will bring you down to et38 which is pushing the limit a bit - maybe go for a slightly stretched tyre to compensate if you want to fit spacers

I have et50 on my car so et48 will sit out a wee bith further than mine! :)

i like those black OZ alleggerita's and they weight less than 8kgs in 18x8 according to OZracing. think they are perfect for a ibis white s3. my favourites and of course black bbs CH in 19" but they are bit common on s3s.

Just realised, only got 7500 miles out of the Sport Continentals! Would we say that's normal with 350lb/ft going through the wheels?

Should i be aiming for a 18x8 wheel with an offset of ET50 then?

Or should i be safe and get a 18x7.5? with an offset of ET50?

The car is dropped 25mm so i really don't want to be buying these wheels only to get rubbing!

Dont go for 7.5 as you will indeed regret going to a narrower width. I dropped my car about 20mm and running ET45s with 3mm spacers to clear the BIG 6 pots... no rubbing issues...I think you can go even with ET45 with 18 x 8.

If you are still in doubt drive down for a test fit!

Just ordered the wheels. Eta is about 3 weeks.

18x8, ET48, matt black.....

Watch this space!

Your three weeks are up. :blackrs4:

I have had an email from the factory stating they are sending them out! My car is with Pro Alloy at the moment having the larger intercooler fitted, once it returns the wheels will be on! Wahooo!
