Hi there.
I picked her up last week, and i have some pics to share with you.
I'm about to replace the S-Line shift knob with the S3 one, and so far i have no more 'mods', till i get the S3 pedals and the TT dead pedal.
Regards from Spain.

Very nice car but if I may be so bold, I feel its a bit far to stick S3 badges on it. Just my opinion though.

That's what i thought, i'm willing to do something about that, but i still don't know what to do... Should i remove the '3' on the badge or replace it with the S-Line one?
What do u think?

I'd def get the S3 badge off it, in a 1.4 you're only going to be made a show of at the lights and on the motorway.

Swap with the s-line badge if it fits...

It shouldn't have the S3 badges on no way.

Or an S3 gear knob. Which is almost the same as the S-Line one anyway.

Looks good though.

yeah make it sline mate would be much better .....imho

Yeah do as I did, lose the S3 & mod the badge for sline by using the S3 backplate so fixes on grill properly, as per this:

I'm guessing its a S line anyway, it has all the standard 09 S line bits

Is the 1.4 in it the Twin Charger version, Turbo and Supercharged?

Looks Ace!! Also the S3 badges are purely personal, if you like 'em....you keep 'em...

Looking good!!
Is it me or is there an unusually large gap between top of grill and bonnet?

yeah does seem so mate, not that huge but still crap for fitment, but this was a problem before anyway wasnt it for the pre-facelift aswell when swapping grills from sline to s3

Interesting.... i was thinking of removing the whole badge, but it looks like this one is pretty much easier...
The thing i'm not quite sure is: do i need to remove the bumper in case i want to release the badge?

PD: Sorry for my english!

No, just unclip it from the grill with fingers round back all done from the front fairly easily & then remove the S3 which is double sided taped on, then add new double sided foam backed tape to the sline badge & stick accordingly, make sure its the pritt pads type tape double sided sticky cause the flat type double sided wouldnt be flexible & would full of easier over harsh roads where as the foam can move with bumps etc & stay put, minor but if you dont wanna fork out £10-£15 every now & then use as suggested & what factory uses.

Yes, it is S-Line, but the engine is not the twin charger version (like the 1.4 Golf TSI 170bhp) it's got one turbo, in Spain is the only version available. (and in UK?)

Mmmm. That's a little bit annoying, i didn't notice the gap till you said it.
First of all i thought it was due to the grill swap thing, but take a look a this.

Looks like there is the same gap in the standard facelift grill. At least that's what i see....

Can you resize your images please, as tad large, lol.

Take to dealer with photos & say you're not happy with fitment of bumper, even with old grill it was bad, they should with proof of old grill images do something about it.
