How to turn the front passenger airbag off? help needed

Can anyone tell me if the front passenger airbag can be switched off on a pre facelift 8L?
I had a look in the glovebox as i thought it could be turned off using the key but cant seem to find anything at all
Did the pre facelift come with the option of being able to switch it off?
Any ideas?

Not sure about the pre, but I know mine has an airbag key in the top right corner of the glove box...

Have a look in the owners manual mate. I have a facelift version and it shows you in there so i'd have thought that if it doesn't tell you in your manual then you probably cant do it.

Same on mine too, have to use ignition key, top right corner of glove box!

You can't switch it off manually on a prefacelift car I'm afraid.

I think there was a retrofit option kit available, i am sure i read it somewhere !

Mine too, there's an orange warning saying 'Passenger Air Bag Off' on the interior light when you switch it off.

yup. put the key in the glovebox on the right side when you open the glovebox and turn it. simple. ive got a 8L 1999 prefacelift
