WHAT WAS I THINKING. pulling out of a carpark and my eyes were on the road. (APARENTLY NOT) Drove directly into a steel post. Been to my local body shpp and i need a.

- New Front Bumper
- New Driver sie light
- New plastic bit that goes around fog light.
- Maybe need a new light washer thing

God know what else is under the bumper that might have broken.

Does anyone know how much the part cost from audi to a trade for the bumper and light.

Thanks all

not sure about prices but im really sorry to hear that mate

New crash beam under the bumper potentially (if it has been deformed in any way)

bad luck mate

My excess is £750 as im only 22. Im sure it wont cost that much will it? i hope not..

Well considering the technicans hourly rate is around £750 p/min, and most of them have the mental agility of a dung beetle, you should be in for a fairly good reeming I would have thought...

A range rover reversed into me last year at about 3mph. He was reversing as he had driven into a cycle path and he noted a cycle was coming so (he says) checked his mirrors, didn't see me behind, then reversed straight into me at very low MPH.

His tow bar punctured my bumper / grille and dented my crash beam lightly.

Total cost for bumper / respray / grille and crash beam was over £700.

well you can source fair few bits on the bay, the front bar is readily available & even the older 04 one can be adapted to fit exactly as oem as I did this mate, **** happens, get on the bay source the **** needed, then get it done, I know a good bodyshop in horsham area if you need, need any help as only in East Sussex, you're welcome to drop down near me & we can take the front of & check whats behind damaged.

Just got a quote. These prices are trade prices

BUMPER = 205
PLASTIC FOG SURROUND = 20
LIGHT = 305

All + vat. Bumper will need spraying and the rest of the work doing..

£1100

Awww mate that sucks, in the mean time, make light of it and write "oops" in black marker on the damage lol

The japs stick masking tape on the damage and write "drift" on it. Tickles me.

Bad luck tho mate, but I cant feel that sorry for you as you are 22 with an S3:whistle2:

OUCH !! Thats more than £700 damage for OEM parts. Source second hand OEM parts and then get them paintd, i recon that could be done for under the cost of your excess. Dependng on any underlying damage

FRONT BUMPER £235.12
O/S HEAD LIGHT £348
O/S GRILLE 20.92
HEAD LIGHT WASHER COVER £9.74
Bumper beam 57.26
head light washer cylinder 56.47

All oem parts inc vat.

How you did so well financially by the age of 21? I cant beleive I had to actually spell it out.

im trying to bite my tongue and with this comment will be shouted at for being a tit... but...

in my day you would have a few years driving around in crap cars after you pass your test before getting something nice (like an S3) the idea was that you are still learning to drive, even after your test and smashing into stuff in a crap car is a lot cheaper to repair...

Good luck with the repair :sorry:

On the contrary Klauster, I beleive if your doing well financially (legitimately), then why shouldnt you be able to have the finer things in life??

maybe he's a hard working drugs dealer? :)

Seriously though, sorry to see it damage. You must be gutted & raging with yourself. I hope you get back to A1 asap.

I'll be honest mate its not that bad, has the headlight actually had the fixings cracked/broken or is it just the scratches on the front, cause if its not broken as such I'd get the scratches polished as best as poss & then see how is after that, the bumper damage is similar to one I had on my S4, it has indents & I actually got the heat gun out & reshaped the bumper myself & got my paint guy to fill a tiny bit & paint, looked good as new, pity rest of car didnt, but I'll be honest with some good plastic welding/fixing it could be made to look as new.

Mine also was on the headlight washer jet & it did have a problem, but I removed bumper, took apart, repaired it with epoxy & it saved me untold, worked perfectly well after that mate.

I've seen worse, so dont jump to get new bumper etc just yet mate even with that rips & indents, some work I've seen done defies belief but there are some really skilled people out there & saved people hundreds if not more.

Good for you mate 22 with that car, I was the same at 22ish had a VR6, worked my **** of for a company I started, why not enjoy it cause sitting in a bank isnt doing it any good either, nice one.

We still dont know how he got it :)

bad luck :sorry:
had a similar accident on my a4, tbh a bit worser. but my friend fixed it with the heat gun and plastic welding it was good as new and nobody saw a difference, and the best thing instead paying for new parts and painting them for a 1200 € he did it for a less than 400€ with all the material he needed.
so like NHN said you could fix that for less money.

other than the damage.... it looks like a rather tasty S3, just pay the cash and have it fixed properly, don't skimp and get a crap job, it deserves better

Nice car mate...Im 17 with an A3. :D

Sad to see the damage on your car, hope you get it back to perfect asap! Still looks the dogs tho...

If he can afford it I can't see the problemo.

Pity about the car but it will fix :)

Unlucky Eugegall. I did similar by reversing round a corner into my sisters car (Mk4 Golf - Hardly damaged). The crash beam in the rear broke through the rear bumper. In doing so the crash beam got dented and I needed a new drivers side rear light as well. Audi Worcester quoted me £900 after it was taken in for a service. However I got lucky as someone drove into the back of me a month later and did a whole lot more damage haha. Luckily their insurance sorted me out.
Btw I was 19 (now 21) when I got my a3 2.0tdi s-line, and all my mates are so envious. Although one of my mates whos 22 has a new A5 3.0tdi lol (professional cyclist)

come on pall was you ****** from the night b4 lol weve all done it.... lol.... not crashed just bin ****** the day after....

hold off on the remap ..... if you did this just coming out of a car park lol :)

You're all over reacting - I'm sure that will polish out no probs!

Sorry to hear about this mate. not as bad as i expected, As nigel said see what some garages can do. Hope it gets sorted soon and dont cost too much.

thanks

ashley

if im honest guys my insurance excess happens to be £500. Iv been driving a little over 5 years and i have 5 years no claims. Hence the cheap insurance..So i think i will get her looked after properly and go into audi to get fixed...

if your paying cash mate go to any decent repairer a lot are crying out for work like ours and might help you on labour rate where as dealer bodyshops probably wont and a lot more expensive to start with, dont know if i read above but headlight brackets might be bust etc also

With bodywork it pays to shop arround for the right bodyshop!

I recon a good place would want to put a new bumper on that and renew any damaged bits. With the new bits I would expect the car to be A1 and would have to be done to that standard.

If your anything like me if i damage something it has to be repaired to a standard that I can't tell its ever happened!

Hehehehehe This is true.

I would go to someone who does some serious cars for serious car lovers! The majority of people who get there car painted at audi wont even take the time to look at the repair when they go pick it up. Audi know this so don't give a **** (imo)
