RNS-E..... more questions

Hi,

Thinking of putting RNS-E in 2008 A3 Sportback. Currently has in dash 6-CD and Audi iPod interface. Also has Bluetooth, SDS Low and full DIS (red, so pre facelift).

Q1. Is it possible to have RNS-E with a glove box 6-CD changer AND retain the iPod adaptor? Is the Dension 100(?) better? Does it show track info in the RNS-E?

Q2. The SD Cards are limited to 512 files. Does this mean 512 tracks (theoretically) per card? Can you store Albums in a folder i.e. Coldplay, X&Y - select the folder and the whole album will play? I;ve read that it's possible to use 4Gig cards as long as you don't bust the 512 limit. How many tracks are you all getting per card. If it's 400 ish then 800 over two cards should be enough!

Q3. Will nav directions automatically show in the DIS or does this need Coding?

Q4. Is it worth going to SDS Hi?....... it does seem v good.

1. Yes you can have changer and Ipod with the Dension kit. Notrack names on RNS-E, but they can be in the DIS with the right Dension modell.

2. Yes 512 tracks if you had no other folders. The 512 limit includes all items on the card, eg, Folders+tracks. There are rumours of a 400 track limit in a single folder but I never bothered to test. 4GB Sd cards will be fine. No way around the 512 limit yet sadly.

3. They will show automaticaly but its worth getting the car (+RNS-E) coded to prevent error codes being stored/flagged.

4. Yes I reckon its worth the effort to put SDS on, it makes entering Nav directions a bit easier.
