I own an A4 1900 TDI SE AVANT ESTATE..Does the cd player in the boot come as standed or as an extra..

optional extra
you should have the wiring cable already in place if you want to fit one

what year is you b5? i assume you have the existing factory head unit?

if you spend a little more, you could get a Phatbox unit it plays mp3s's it lets you sort out between artist, album, genre, playlist by using you existing head unit. excellent bit of kit, IMO

I've always been led to believe it was standard on SE models.......upto about '97/'98 cars had the Audi Delta H/U, after that the Audi Concert was used, both in conjunction with the 6 disc changer in the boot........
Could be wrong though!
My car came with a Concert and 6 disc changer from the factory, part of the standard SE spec..................

I've just dug out an effective Aug '97 Audi brochure listing all the list prices and specs etc of the Audi range and have to say I was wrong!
Seems the autochanger was an option on all models of A4 at a cost of £392.45!!!!!!!!!!

My 6 disc Changer (optional!) currently contains The Prodigy (The Fat Of The Land), Pink Floyd (Dark Side Of The Moon), Dire Straits (Brothers in Arms) Royksopp (Melody AM), Lamb (Debut Album) and disc 5 of Ultimate 80s.

If the MOT examiner was ever to get wind of these he would probably fail it....

Couldn`t disagree more -

I think playing a bit of Pink Floyd as you drive onto the MOT ramp would surely guarantee you a pass,

As we all know that the MOT Examiners come from the Dark side Of The Moon

Cheers, still finding my way round the thing ! very impressed though how solid they are given the fact that mine has 140k miles on.

Just need to find a cd changer now !

:arco:

what radio do you have is it a concert or symphony?

Steve, I've just taken the changer out of my A4 Avant as I'm changing my main head unit due to the Concert cassette player packing in. If you are interested let me know.

Its the concert one.

Steve

if your going to keep the concert unit, i wouldnt bother with the cd player, i have this in my car Linky its a shame these are getting dearer now as im sure they have stopped making these. way better than a CD player as you just drag and drop your mp3
