As the title, my car is in for a bit of body work (chav black bonnet painting back to original) and I have decided to get the alloys done while its in..

Now whats driving me insane is should I get them anthracite or keep them silver??.

Its a silver 2002 with black bonnet and roof, I'm getting the bonnet painted Silver again, but leaving the roof..

Anyone have ANY pics at all of the standard wheels this colour??

What do you think????

Any Photoshop wizards that could weave some magic?, I haven't a clue how to use the thing..

I have to let them know in the morning HELP !!?!?!:greyrs4:

Looks nice.

I saw an S3 looking like this lurking between a Halfords and a KFC at the weekend...
Personally I think we pay a premium to have an understated hot hatch and changing the colour of the Avus just makes it look a bit tacky
Just my opinion though, if you like it, go for it!

I think it looks good, im actually thinking of doing it myself when I get around to it!!

Have a search for danclarke, he has done some rims in a few different colours....looks really good!!

I really like this look. would like mine doing. :arco:

Thanks Guys...

So its a majority vote !!!!

Anthracite it is.. I'll post pics when there done.

:arco:

I think it suits the silver and light blue cars nicely but I thought about it on Ming Blue and realised it just wouldn't go.

I just left my car till the wheels were quite dirty then if you squint enough the wheels look anthracite and you can get an idea of how they'd look. ;)

I'm with you on the anthracite-look, esp on a silver car!
I'll be going for "Gunmetal" rims to avoid to much shinyness.

Looking forward to your pics. Will mkae some myself once the new rims are fitted.

Slightly off topic but if i were to powdercoat my rims anthracite, how do i colour match the caps as plastic cant be powder coated?? lol.

Hi Scott,

I was able to get mine done when I had the wheels sent to spit & polish.

Cheers,

Ive just been to the garage to choose the colour for the wheels, Ive gone for right in between the one posted here and the one thats been linked to piston heads.

Getting a full detail also, hopefully its gonna look the mutts nuts when I get it back with Matt black roof & anthracite wheels fingers crossed. Its always been a bit shabby since I bought it! The heat here 40+ kills cars!

The paint shop is one of the best here in Dubai, they have done some crazy stuff, like a chrome car and the one below, not sure what merc it is it looks mad.

They even turned a 92 Range Rover into a 2009 one lol.

lol, Its you lot that drive on the wrong side! I've been living out of the UK for 8 years now, so when I come back on holiday and drive I keep punching the drivers door trying to change gear, and clipping curbs lol
