09MY diffuser/ valance fit pre-facelift?

Just about to buy a rear S-line bumper for my sportback from Audi after about a month of eBay watching with no luck... What I'd like to know is whether the valance from the new S-line or S3 will fit the pre-facelift (06MY) rear S-line bumper. Failing that can the 06MY S3 (3dr model) valance be modded to fit the sportback bumper?

Haven't seen any other valances that looked good IMO, not to excited about the votex or other styling houses.

I dont think the new 09 S3/S-line valance will fit a pre-facelift like your 2006 a3. You probably need a bumper for a 09 S3 or s-line for there rear valance to connect. Could be wrong though! And i dont think you can put a 2006-2008 S3 valance on your 2006 A3 without need the S3 back bumper. But again i could be wrong. Hope that helps

I think the 2006> 2009 S3 has the same bumper as an s-line just different different valance?? Not 100% though...

The 09MY sportback is 1.1" wider than my one, not sure how that translates into the bumper & may not fit my car, If it does I would buy that instead of the 06MY S-line rear.

I'm assuming this means that the S-line rear bumper from the face lift model will also fit our cars if this one does, can't really see why it shouldn't... Not sure what 'hardware' refers to but from what I could gather over at Fourtitude forums; it's not anything out of the ordinary required to fit this bumper.

May well buy the new bumper and s-line valance if it will not fit onto 2006MY bumper, but would really appreciate some advice from those with ETKA or in the know. As my local Audi parts are about as useful as chocolate teapot!

Any advice on the matter would really be appreciated guys!

Right the valance will not fit your 06 bumper just looked at pic of both 06 and 09 on ETKA and they look very different.

Cheers Frenchy, what about the 2009 facelift model S-line bumper... will this fit my pre-face lift car? I am working on the assumption it will, but you know what they say about assumptions...

I cant see why the bumper wont fit, but I will check when im at work tomorrow. Things like the brackets etc may be different. But i will let u know. As far as the lower valences go both s-line and s3 wont fit.

Cheers Frenchy that would be appreciated! I had a word with a guy on fourtitude that also thinks the bumper will fit no problem. I will order it today if everything matches up... hopefully have it this time next week... got some face lift LED lights, and bits for my S-line front bumper want to get the last piece of the puzzle then get it all on asap.

Yes i can confirm the brackets are the same so should fit no problems.:icon_thumright:

Well I fitted an 05-08 sline valance onto my 04 sport bumper, they are different I can assure you, but with some minimal modding & cable ties, trust me wont come of, fits like a glove & looks totally oem, so nothings impossible if you got the time.

I never take etka for gospel & the images dont always do it justice, I know 7.2 has added actual images to a degree but they're never to be taken as what you see, I deal with parts guy in brighton audi daily, him & me both know the things I've bought from different years etc fit & some direct some modding needed, so really depends on how brave you are, to me I give anything a go so y not huh.

I have had a word with the local audi dealership whom inform me that they have the face lift bumper in stock but valance has to be ordered in. I will see if anyone will better there price, although they are offering a 15% discount so may just go with them. The parts guys seems to also think the bumper will be a straight swop, no mods necessary.

& why not mate, otherwise life would be boring if everything just fitted & worked huh, rear valance was only about £50-£60 anyway so not exactly a ball breaker, I'd take my chance & if no good just stick on the bay, but audi do return alot of items so might not be so much a problem.
