how do they compare all round, not just performance etc.

am i correct in thinking the r32 is more vocal than the a3 v6?

any opinions on either of them?

See the A3 2.0T Vs. GTI argument... It's exactly the same pro's and cons.

A3 feels more quality, executive. Is more understated and 'mature' i suppose.
R32 is a more driver focused, direct handling car. Maybe a little more 'boy racer' image but it's a lot more fun to drive.

So really it's not a case of which is the 'better' car.... More a case of what kind of driver/person you are.

Agreed :)

Although the A3 can be made more focused I guess..... harder to make the R32 have a different interior :)

I'd be interested in the differences in the suspension, induction and exhaust between the two - anyone have any ideas what they are like?

Suspension wise i'd imagine not a massive difference between the R32 and S-Line set up. I'd be more interested which had the better brake set up. I'm guessing the R32.

Exhaust wise, the R32 is more vocal and has more of a raspy tone to it. If i were you i'd maybe have a look for some youtube videos on both cars. There's usually a lot of 'exhaust note' videos!

Same brakes :)

Yes the A3 is more subdued sound wise (refined) but this could be altered easy enough i guess.

i'm sure someone mentioned the R32 has ARBs fitted as standard...

Wouldnt like to drive mine without arbs..... :sadlike:

Mine has a Pipercross Viper and Remus back box. No complaints about the sound :)

yeah me too

any one know what the front and rear thickness of the arbs are on the a3 v6?

Exhaust wise as pete suggests or a miltek.

My bro just got a Viper and a custom exhaust fitted to his R32, Sounds brilliant, the Viper sucks loudly indeed,. I try not to listen too much as my TDI gets jealous!
