which fuel??

hi guys,
just out of interest what fuel do you lot fill up with? the reason i ask is i usually just fill up with bog standard fuel from my nearest station, however the last couple of times ive been filling up with optimax from shell, i used to use this in my impreza for the higher octane rating, anyway my s3 seems to run so much better on it, i am not saying the car is faster or has more bhp or anything it just seems to pick up and boost smoother, my car has a revo map and when i bought it i noticed the owner had a revo controller which he claimed was a mates, is it possible he has tweaked fueling/timing map to suit a higher octane fuel??
any opinions appreciated

higher octane means a bit more and yes the dongle can be adjusted to suit the octane level

I think most cars run on higher octane fuel. Apparently it helps the engine to run more efficiently and more economically.. When i drove my mini the difference was noticeable when filling up with high octane fuel. i'm gonna try high octane in my a3 next fill up and see what difference it makes......

i always run mine on v power. i've even compared it to bp ultimate which made my car feel really lumpy if that makes sense. always put v power in personally.

I'd love the BP Ultimate 102 but cant get it in wales at all.

I only use v power. if I go long distances i check where the shell garages are on the blackberry

97ron or 99ron vpower.

Wont see any difference using the higher ron fuels though unless your car is mapped for it.

well i think i am gonna stick to the vpower, i said optimax in the first i think this was original name before it changed, it feels better i am not talking like huge amounts but it def is an improvement, like i mentioned in the first post i suspect the map has been tweaked for higher ron,

Always use V Power since i got the car....i felt a noticable difference in the pickup and response of the car..

If you've got a revo map then you should only use it on super unleaded

I use standard rubbish tried 96 V-power and tesco 99.

I get better mpg with normal rubbish which I find strange. dont notice any difference between 98 and 99 tho.

When i fill up the elise I only ever use V-power runs much better, 99 seems to make it run badly and never ever use normal.
