Removing interior door trim...

Alright fellas, hope you've all had a super weekend so far!

I'll soon be replacing my piano black door trim in the front and back of my A3 (3 door) with the aluminium trim. Just for a change and to keep it interesting. I'll be keeping the center console piano black though.
I have the satin finish OEM alloy gearknob so aluminium on the gear surround and ashtray would be overkill IMO.
The piano black centre console with aluminium in the doors seems to be a theme now anyway with the S5, RS6 etc so should look good.

Anyway... Can anyone PLEASE supply a diagram of where the clips are located on the pieces of trim. Last thing i want to do is start aimlessly ramming a screwdriver behind them and snap the clips.

Also just a bit of advice on the best way to remove them would be brilliant if possible.

P.S.... The piano black inserts will be for sale after i've removed them if anyone's interested. I also have an S-Line perforated leather gear knob/stick & gator if anyone wants one (was only on the car for approx 6K miles so it's mint). Open to offers!

Thanks Dave you are a prince amongst men. Those diagrams seem to be for the sportback though. The inserts are different.

However... By the looks of it there's no science to it. Seems you just get a thin plastic tool and force them off. Famous last words!!!

Thanks guys that's brilliant. Definitely answers my question!
The clips for Audi interior bits are actually really robust i find, they clunk in and out nicely.

I'll probably take some photos of the interior once it's done.

Just pull them off at a corner carefully - no need to consult a manual

You will have them all off within 5 mins

Good to hear you succeeded and it's an easy job as I'm thinking of changing my horrible "wooden" inserts.

Anyone know if it's just as easy to remove the insert around the base of the gear stick?

yip real easy ya dont even nead a screwdriver just put your fingers at the front of your gear stick open ashtray first .get your fingers below the plastic and it will click out http://forums.audiworld.com/a3/msgs/75974.phtml

Well i was relatively lucky because i didn't want to swap the ashtray and gearstick surround. I got the 2 door inserts and trim for rear seats (3 door) off of Ebay for just over £100 (taken from a 2008 S3....Yes i did check they were legit, the guy has a breakers). Which may seem pricey BUT consider full sets are pushing £300 it's not too bad. Also i've got a set of piano black trim to sell so i'll recoup some money anyway.
Be advised that they are like rocking horse sh*t and breakers know what they're worth so don't expect any bargains!

P.m me a price for the trims as long as they are a1 cond.

Edition mate, send me a PM with an offer. I can probably get some snaps if you want. Basically they're in lightly used condition. No scratches, only surface swirling which is unavoidable. These can all be polished out with some Meg's Plast-X (think it's called that anyway!) and they'll be as new.

Depends what you call cheap really mate. They're an unreal price from the stealers so just over £100 for all 4 doors i can live with. It's overpriced but hey, we bought Audi's so lets not start complaining now lol

Dave... Do you have a diagram for removing the trim on the rear panels?
I removed the front trim yesterday very easily and stupidly assumed the rear would be the same.... Christ almighty, those things are stuck on ridgid.
Just want to make sure the arm rest/pad doesn't have to be pulled up or anything first.
