Got my car fully detailed by Matt at OffYourMarks last week. I'd seen his work over on DetailingWorld and Polished Bliss recommended him to me. So I took the plunge. I'm still gobsmacked now. If you're in the market for a detail I can assure you Matt will give you value for money - the car feels like silk to the touch and although it used to just look "black" it now shows through amazing flakes of purples, blues and reds. Here are a few pics ......

Looks great mate... Wait until there some sun hitting the surface of your paint... :hubbahubba:

What wax was used Iggu?
Remember get few more layers on to it yourself... And you will be amazed how quick and easy it is to clean and stay clean too!

are they going to put a full write up on that. looks great that does.

Looks amazing  wish I could find somebody local to me who would do that to mine  not me though 'cos i'll **** it up

Thanks for the comments
Its a Zymol wax - a single tub costs £8,000.
That wasn't a typo - that's genuine.

It took 3 full days to do - interior, exterior, engine bay, wheels off, arches, boot: the works. Although the swirling wasn't too bad there were lots of quite deep scratches which took a lot of time and effort to do.
The cost was £595 - and from the minute I saw it I wasn't fazed by that. It is value for money.

I also got a pretty detailed tutorial on how to keep it this way too - including tips I never would have thought of (such as throw away all chamois leathers and drying towels and get a £50 leaf blower from B&Q to dry the car after washing - this preserves the wax and gives a streak-free glossy finish every time).

It really does show what a black car should look like when you see detailing pictures like this - top job it has to be said.

That does look awesomee !!

The deep looked of a waxed and polished black car - nothing can beat it!!

What was the cost involved if you dont mind me asking?

I'm thinking of letting Nathan giving mine a shot when the kit is fitted!

But looks great mate!!

Top job.
Looks the ********:icon_thumright:

Interesting point about the leaf blower.

Why not save £50 and just dont park the car under trees.....:)

Looks good, but thats a hell of a lot of money!

Depends how you view it.
Its a third of the price of a respray (but looks better than a respray ever could).
Its a one-off and (if I follow Matt's instructions) should look this way forever.
It will help residuals when selling.
Its £200 per day (or about £30 per hour) - reasonable for highly skilled labour.
Its equivalent to 10 "valets" at £60 a pop - and they will make your paintwork worse ....
Its the same as my insurance bill - for which I receive NOTHING in return.
All in all - I think its pretty cheap.

Well when you look at it like that....

compared to the alleged LifeShine my VW stealer applied at £300 that's not so bad

where are these guys?

I've thought about a leaf blower but fear I'd look a right **** in front of the neighbours. They already think I spend far too much time cleaning the car.

Detailing is very additive though - I'm already light of about £300 quid blown on stuff I'd never heard of 1 year ago!

that looks very good, the zymol wax is the dogs

My neighbours already think/know I'm odd. I'm sure they think I'm having a sexual relationship with my car the amount of time they see me tinkering with it.
B&Q leafblower - £29.50. Does what it says on the tin - but not neighbour friendly.

Looks spot on!!

Was thinking of getting the local Swissvax man loose on mine! Thats just made the decision alot easier!!!

Iggu...Your car looks great. As you said well worth the price you paid, and the tips he gave you will help you keep the car looking that way!
Car looks amazing, always good to see a nice clean spotless S3 with no dirt in site even better its black!

Looks lovely!

Wish mine either looked that clean,or would stay that way for more than the time taken to get out of my driveway!

I made the kids laugh by cleaning it and saying I'd bought a new car in white.

Nathan N8KOW is giving my A3 S-Line a full detail hit this Friday and Saturday for snippet of that price while using some very very quality products. The guy is a perfectionist beyond how I am (and im ****** fussy - lol) It's all being documented with LOTS of before, during, and after pictures using a very very sexy Sony SLR camera so you can see the quality of the detail from that. I will post a thread up when all ready.

Thank you - very nice compliments.

I agree with Mikey. Nathan detailed my car last summer, and I was very pleased with the results, it really did transform the car, it was much better than i could ever get it. Nathan's ATD is unbelievable, he spend 2 full days doing the car - well done mate
After seeing the results, my Dad booked his Mercedes to be done as well. Nathan is coming back soon to detail my car again. Well worth the money in my opinion, he's very well priced also.

It does look good but maybe its the images make it look a bit bland & didnt help the weather as clouds above, maybe you could post some better light images as to me looks like could be a little better overall, the shine/clearness that PolishBliss get is unbelievable mate even on a **** day/light, but yours seems a tad dull for a detail, as I said it could be just the bad light & I dont mean to **** on your firework, just being honest, I know I saw Matt's car after the detail by N8KOW & his looked amazing, saw the images of the ATD & talk about anal, I'm anal about work I do but his detailing is top notch, maybe sunny day will really shine through how good the detail really is, be interested to see it then & to add I couldnt do anywhere near as good as these guys but just an opinion overall.

Post up on sunny day mate then we'll see how good it is.

You're kidding right?
The depth of that finish is awsome - especially the indoor shots, looks like you could almost fall in!
Granted the outdoor shots aren't doing it as much justice as the light is flat, but you can see the depth of the finish in the reflection!

It very nice you guys supporting N8KOW, but if I understand it he's still working from a Megs Dual Action polisher not a rotory polisher which will always give a far better finish IMHO.

Not supporting N8 at all mate, just I've seen better finishes thats all, as I said some better light images would maybe show how good the detail really is but I've seen better jobs done by Polished Bliss based on these images so far, they post up here, but then again maybe they have better cameras & better lighting effects overall, of course its easy for us to say good/bad job on here but only up close would really make us give an honest opinion & thats what I've given based on what I've seen, but what would really do it for me is before & after images side by side which is why maybe PB do look better, cause they do this fully, of course this is only my opinion not anyone else's so dont take it gospel

But as I said its a nice car & it does look good, afterall its a forum to get opinions

Now where did I put my glasses:undwech:

Now where did I put my glasses:undwech:

Ahhh, that explains it :lmfao:
I agree, PB do a great job of doing the before and afters - I think it's clark or is it Rich) that has a great camera for capturing the finished results

the shine/clearness that PolishBliss get is unbelievable mate even on a **** day/light but yours seems a tad dull for a detail

I've met Nathan - he's a top bloke and I wouldn't hear a word said against him.
But I don't think any of you (despite your good intentions I'm sure) are helping his cause much here - by so overtly plugging him in a thread which didn't call for any kind of comparisons to be made you're making him out to be desperate for work (which I'm sure he isn't). If I was him I'd be furious you were going so over-the-top in trying to compare one detailer to another. Biased plugging never looks great.

As to this comment above - I spoke to Rich at Polished Bliss and his exact words were: "I couldn't recommend any detailer in the NorthWest to you other than OffYourMarks - they are the only organisation who will offer you the same quality you would get from us."

So NHN - if you're such a fan of Polished Bliss you should heed their advice ... its usually spot on.

Nathan - good luck mate. I have no idea how your name got so dragged into this but all the best from me pal. Hope to see you again soon.
