Well my car got keyed this afternoon parked in Chipping Norton, the wild west of the cotswolds. I was gone for 20 mins and some moron put a nice 12" long gash into the drivers door.
Anyone used the chipsaway guys for something like this? Results?

i have never used them but i know they do some good work. it might be pricey as they will probably respray your whole doors, and maybe the surrounding panels to make the paintwork blend. if it is not deep then you could possibly pay for a detailer to come out and try to wet sand it and correct it! or take it to a body shop!
I would get it done properly if I were you, these chips away guys are ok but the colour rarely matches exactly and have found the repair fades after a while.Used them on my dads old Corsa, would I use them on a premier brand, NO !!

I'd definitely get it painted properly. Do you live in Chipping Norton? If so, Southam Bodies are only 25 miles or so away from you, and the quality of their paintwork is outstanding.

Really feel sorry for you mate. Words can't express how bad i feel, i just can't understand why people do such bad things. Did you notice who'd parked next to you when you left the car? Had that car gone? I take the plate no's off cars sometimes when i don't feel comfortable with it. Not much i can do though with that info just makes me feel better if that makes sense.
Really hope you get this sorted out. I'm really gutted for you.

I have got some work done by Spa Motors in Leamington Spa in the past. They are about 25 miles from Chipping Norton but they have done a great job for me in the past and their prices are reasonable. Right next to Leamington Spa train station aswell if you have to return 'carless'!!
Of course the guy...if it was a guy?? would have to walking on the same private track/road as you because the speed limit in this country is 70mph!!
Might have been parked on the pavement, and some old dear in his/her scooter couldn't get passed without hitting the car? Was that the reason they spat on yours? Because anyone who parks on the footpath in my opinion is fair game, and deserve whatever they get!! Far to many car drivers want to hog the road, and the footpath as well.

Or, it could have been parked entirely correctly minding it's own business and then some jealous, unthinking, mindless piece of crap decides "oh, i can't afford one of them, and my dogshit mind won't allow me to think of a way to get one myself, nah, i'll just damage this one, doesn't matter, i didn't pay for it, f**k em all"
Some people need a good keying I reckon. It's happened to me a few times and I'm still very bitter about it...if I EVER catch someone damaging my property theres going to be trouble lol
In fact, if I saw someone elses car getting damaged, it would cross my mind to introduce the perpetrator's head to my foot a couple of times

aaaaah thanks hotbox i dont understand heros who get there car damaged then stick up for them ....weird they deserve a good kicked nuf said there just horrible jelous freeks this kid walked right down are street and keyed every car on it i guess that was my fault for parking on the pavement lol

In my case i was parked in a small off street car park. I'd actually talked to the guy in the car beside me when we parked up because some guy in a bus was blocking almost all the entrance. Maybe it was the bus driver getting me back for having a laugh at his bad parking, on a set of double yellows...blocking a car park entrance. The other chaps car was untouched thankfully.
Based on the feedback from you guys, and some feedback on chipsaway from a friend who's a private car dealer i think i'll look at having it resprayed. I've had a chat with my local Audi dealer too and they've given me the details of a local place who they use. I don't plan on getting rid of the car any time soon so i want this fixed right.
