Sorry Duke - ignore that post!! Its just your feedback was next to zero so thought you could be a one hit wonder :D Thats also the reason i PM'd you on uk-mkivs - I seem to swing between both sites nowadays!

My bad and apologies!! :D

And - Ring them and speak to Jason direct.

He will more than likely go with the plan!

If not, you can buy 10 ST3s for £3000 off their site so you guys havent got anything to lose!

Dont rely on email...I have sent them several in the last 2 weeks and not had a reply to one!

any news yet???

Received confirmation from ChippedUK that they can offer us the units for £299 inclusive of VAT and postage. They do not have any currently in stock but delivery should be 7 - 10 days. Let me know if you want to remove your name because of the the delivery delay.

A few more names have shown an interest, shown below, I'll wait until Wednesday and close the list then.

Their after sales support is a complete joke. Seems like they are running some kind of Mickey Mouse operation and once they have your money they don't give 2 shjts about you!

I'm having to drive there to finally get my correct map and make sure its producing the right power!

Just spoken to Jason at Chipped UK to confirm details of the group buy and push for further discount. Contrary to other posts they are not offering further discounts for larger group orders, something to do with margins, warranties and we are already getting free postage. (I guess they've got to make a living also!) I can also confirm that the units do come with a 3 year warranty as part of this offer.

If you want to take advantage of this offer then send your contact details (telephone number, name and forum name), to kelly@ChippedUK.com . They will then contact you to take payment.

He also confirmed that they are due a new delivery of the units in a week so we should get them shortly after that.
I hope that you are all happy with these arrangements, please let me know if not.
Regards,
Duke.

there is a 3 year warranty on every st-3 unit sold

im pretty sure of that

Just an update on my experience from the st3 group buy, chipped uk did infact prove me wrong; i travelled to chipped uk last saturday where i was very well looked after by the company owner. The problem i had was infact down to my car not the st3 unit! I am the second owner from new on my car however the previous owner must have had a revo trial at some point and because of this unless i find out who did the trial i cannot use any switchable mapping device such as the st3 on my vehicle. Now at this point not only did he offer me a full refund he also offered to map my car and refund the difference in price (saturday happened to be a chip and spin rr day offering the remap for £250) to which i agreed. The customer service i recieved was second to none and i will definately be using the company again for rolling road and remap services. Since having the map the car is incredible to drive, it is so much smoother throughout the rev range, very nice and progressive and the power is very nice, i have also noticed a 3-4mpg improvement in fuel economy. They realy have made me eat my words, great service, great map and highly reccomended by myself :o.k::blackrs4:

just spoke to kelly at chipped uk, my st-3 is on order, should be with me in 7-10 days!!! yee hah!!! :yahoo:

is everyone who has just bought one of these going to inform their insurance company and if yes, have they found out by how much their annual premium will be increased?

Ive just ordered my s3 today (12 weeks!)...can i still get on this deal anyone?

Suggest you contact Chipped UK directly, it looks as though they might be prepared to accept additional orders as part of this group buy.

Duke.

For me (age 36, 9+ years no claims, licence for 15+ years, prof job, kids, wife (actually cheaper with her on policy!), etc...) i.e pretty safe bet!

Mk5 Golf GTi, Fully comp, protected no claims,
Price £371 (elephant.co.uk)
Using their online quote, I get the following.
0-10% extra BHP £396
11 - 25% extra BHP £544

I may tell them I've had the economy remap (although actually 15% BHP inc.) and save the fast road map for 'special' occasions!

Just received the following update from Kelly at Chipped UK.

"Just to let you know, we have been informed that the ST3 systems will be here by Friday so yourself and the other forum members should receive theirs early next week. When we have them in stock I will send you a quick email to let you know that they are being despatched.

Also, from the list you sent over to me there are still seven other forum members who have not yet placed their orders, would it be possible for you to post a message asking those who have not contacted me to do so, so that I am either able to take their names off the list and offer the systems to someone else or to arrange payment.

Many thanks for your help."

Anyone got theirs yet? I'm starting to feel impatient!

An earlier message said that many people who wanted one haven't come through. Might be worth calling Chipped-UK and asking them if they are willing to sell you one at ther £299 inc. delivery price. Whats the worst thing they can say!

anyone heard anything? any news about these st-3's?
c'mon, im desperate here, i know patience is a virtue and all that, but c'mon!!! :jump:

I spoke to Kelly this morning, she confirmed that the units were dispatched yesterday, so should be with us today (lucky few) or more likely tomorrow (Thursday). She did also state that once we email our engine ECU details through that the new maps should be with us within the hour (unless we all do it at the same time!).

Spent an hour yesterday driving up and down a straight flat road, video camera in hand to record the performance of the GTi, in every gear, before remapping. Now have graphs of speed Vs time in 2nd to 5th gear (bit scary much above the ton when videoing so skipped 6th). I hope to see some noticeable improvement after remapping. I'll share my graphs when complete. Is this a good way of evaluating the real life performance? I've never really thought that BHP or torque graphs were that useful.

Duke.

PS. Driving a Ferrari this weekend as part of a Christmas present, I'd love to see hoe it compares against the remapped GTI!

PPS. Good to hear you got your car fixed Marty.

the ferrari would be no match for my remapped a3, when i get it!!!
cheers about my car as well mate!!!
enjoy your remap when you get, and post how your times go!!!

Hi guys, do these work on the 3.2 V6?

Cheers
Matt

Just got my hands on the ST-3 first thing this morning and set about following the installation instructions, which are all very clear and straight forward.

It took about 25 mins to read the original map form my car, which I heard could take a while with the MK5 GTi.

Just emailed the original file through, gone for Economy and Power Maps (only appear to be two options or my car).

If you think the anticipation of waiting for the unit to arrive is exciting/frustrating just wait until you're waiting for the remaps to arrive!

Duke.
(took the day off to paint the kitchen, but I guess that will just have to wait!)

Just got back from taking the remapped Mk5 gti for a test drive, and I have to say 'what the f**k have I done?'

The remap has turned what was a good hot hatch into an absolute madman and I'm looking for every opportunity to plant my right foot and hold on.

The boost from low revs that was missing in the original setup has now been replaced with a significant dollop of torque, great when pulling out of a slow bend. The traction control is working hard to cope with the extra power in 2nd gear and 3rd and 4th are completely transformed. I would say that my favourite gear is now 4th.
You can probably guess that I opted for loading the 'Fast Road' map straight away (well can you blame me?)

As you might have guessed I'm very pleased with the remap and my gti is now a GTI. I hope that the rest of you are wearing the remap smile soon.

Other fringe benefits is that the dump valve can be heard at low speeds (sad I know but it does sound good).

I know that there are other more powerful, faster, better handling cars out there, but I don't have the keys to them!

Thanks to the team at Chipped UK,
Duke.

PS. I hope to get some timed runs for comparison against the standard set-up at some point tomorrow, but at this stage I would suggest that there is no comparison and I am reluctant to de-tune to the economy map at the moment.

PPS. Kitchen still not painted!

where is my st-3??? :sob:
anyone else got theirs yet, or is it just that jammy 'b' duke? :p

Marty,
I know that this is no conciliation, but just realised that Simon (from ChippedUK) did not post this message on the Audi-Sport forum yesterday.

"Firstly, thanks for being so patient with the delivery of the units, we didn't expect the orders to be so high after the Russian car show which set us back a lot.
Anyway, we have dispatched all of the units which will arrive either tomorrow or the following day and to try and ease the wait for you guys/gals we will be offering the maps up to 8pm, I must stress that this is a one-off to make sure you guys don't have to wait too long as I'm sure many will only get them after work hours when you return home.
If anyone needs any help we will also be answering emails on technical up to 8pm to try and ease the process.
Simon"

The ST-3 should be with you tomorrow, mine was delivered by 'UKMail' couriers.

Duke

Mine arrived this morning, but it won't work!

When I plug it into my PC, I followed the instructions to install the driver software, and it will not find the drivers!

Maybe due to my PC running x64 Vista Premium!

Going to keep trying for a bit though!
