Don't get pot hole crumblers Ron. Get genuine 19"s as maars did, just be patient, I'll keep an eye out for you. Some 19"s went on ED38 for £400!!!!

I'll take OEM's for that price!

Cheers Nath.

I've yet to see a 3-door 8P with these on but I know it'll look cool.

If it's a 9J rim, even with 52mm offset, that's going to stick out a further 5mm than my current rims (which rub a bit already). Not ideal for an A3 really...

Ive seen these on ebay for just under 700 with no tyres...

How does rim width and offset relate if you dont mind me asking?

Mike has 9inch rims, offset 41 and they poke a little and a mate has 225 (not sure of how wide that is in inches) and offset 35 and they poke less :S

This ideally needs a maths degree and a whiteboard to explain properly but..

Offset is how far the wheel hub is from the centre of the width of the wheel.

My wheels are ET45 (offset) and 8.5J wide. So a 9J wheel of the same offset would be 0.5" (12mm) wider - half of this on the inside, half on the outside. If yours are ET41 then they stick out a further 4mm, so in total with stick out 10mm more than mine. If mine rub a bit, yours will rub LOTS...

Sorry missed this bit - 225 is tyre width in mm - approx 9".

Generally you wouldn't run a 225 tyre on a 9J rim - you can but it will stretch a fair bit. If his pokes less, then the wheel may well me narrower than yours - the offset is 6mm less, but if his wheel was 8J rather than 9J, then the wheel is 25mm narrower (12.5mm inside/outside) so would sit approx 6mm further in than yours.

Ahhh...That makes a bit more sense!!

So how wider the wheel is, the more it will stick out! 12mm per half inch.Thats where i was going wrong on my offset business :D - sounds simple when i say it like that!

So offset 30 on a 9inch will be the same offset 42 on 9.5inch ?

Not quite - a 9.5J wheel is 12mm wider than a 9J wheel, but 6mm of this width will go on the inside, 6mm on the outside.

So a 9J ET30 will still stick out 6mm further than a 9.5J ET42.

Make sense?

Yup! That makes perfect sense!

Not only do you have a very sexy looking A3, you've got a brainn!! lol

Been waiting for ages for someone to explain that me! This offset business has been doing my head in as i wanted mine to poke abit on the rear!

9J ET30 and 9.5J ET44 will stick out the same as for every 0.5J increase on size, the wheel width increases by 12mm and the offset increases by 6mm as the 12mm is divided in half to go 6mm on the inside and 6mm on the outside of the rim :p Bingo!

Thanks a milion mateee !!

I cant thank you enough for that
Cheers :beerchug:

They look good but they stick out too much on the white one

Apparently they are BBS Speedlines. A quick search on ebay.de listed a few sets and most seem to be 9" wide (TT fitment) though they do come in 19"x8.5" from the A6.

Very tempted by one set up for 660 euro's but just haven't got the cash at the mo.

Theres a set on ebay Uk at the mo, just bid 500 for them but reserve not met! Doh!

They are not BBS by the way, the wheel company is Speedline, everyone assumes they are BBS because of the design!

Really? I can't find any.

I am currently running on 19" S3 alloys, and was thinking about getting some RS4 reps but those are a very nice set of alloys and 19's too. They're damn hot! :hubbahubba:

A mate has just informed me of his week long stag in Vegas :scared2: so I may have to postpone the purchase of rimmage until next year.

Gutted.

I wouldn't be gutted about a week in Vegas! I was out there for a week in November at the SEMA show... not a cheap city for a stag week, we spent a lot of money in a week on beer and steak!

Gutted cos I can't afford both.

Oh well at least I know my 2010 news years resolution - Buy sexy wheels!
