Apart from my car being filthy, what do you make of this?

See the missing section underneath the bumper on the right? Anyone seen this before, any idea how it could have come off? I'm guessing this won't be covered by warranty...even though I very much doubt this should have fallen off..

Well where's the limit to warranty parts?? If the whole bumper fell off you'd hope it was warranty covered. This isn't a removeable or 'working' part so i'd definitely push for a warranty replacement.

By the way....Is that Deep Sea Blue? Looks nice!

lol it's a dirty Phantom Black - only cleaned it last week blasted weather...

yeah it shouldnt come of so warranty should cover it no problem & if they try there luck just give them the old I paid 30k for this car blah blah blah then they'll sort it out

Just tell the dealer it fell off. We have replaced them on warranty before.

Docklands Audi finally got back to me today and said their Warranty guy has said he can't claim this part under warranty

What's my best course of action?

Frenchy, are you able to tell me where or who you work for so maybe I can tell him of the other places that have replaced them?

Just to add, their reasoning is that the whole section is one piece, and so for this bit of it to come off by itself must be vandalism etc

By looking at the damage, it's such a clean break that I find it hard to believe this, there is no sign that this bit has snapped off, just that it's fallen out. It also does't really seem the 1st area of the car that someone would vandalise... Sounds to me like they're just trying to get out of it (whole section is only £120ish to replace so it's principle rather than cost)

Dont know about anyone else but £120 is fair bit of money fella, so definitely contest it & explain vandals dont pull of underside bits of the car do they, what do they do bring a trolley jack with them, lol, seriously mate go back to them & show them the clean break & explain again that it just doesnt happen, I'd say a screw came loose it fell down & then snapped of when driving, has been known to happen number of times especially after underside has had work on or accessed by the garage & havnt done it up properly

Am away from home at the moment, popped into Listers Audi in Worcs today and they said the part that's missing is the part that covers the towing hook and is replaceable by itself for £12, and just clips on. Getting them to do it tomorrow.

He said most likely someone stole it - rather sad if true

Ah ok yeah that part is replaceable, but has to be painted to the car colour aswell so its not £12 fella, but nobody steals that part for pete's sake, really lmao, someone with an S3 would go & steal that of another S3, I just cant see it tbh

Ah actually maybe that part comes already in primed colour as my front bumper bottom did & isnt painted, so might be £12, lucky sod I'd say, lol
