This passed weekend our club, VW Club of SA had a track event and I partook in what was quite an enjoyable event. A mate took some pics of the car in action but this one in particular stood out like a sore thumb...enjoy!

Wheel/suspension combo is perfect! And I love the bonnet bra!

nice but i love those ats cups on the mk2 :p

That looks awesome fella - the stealth look of your S3 is just through the roof!!

Looks really good and loving the smoked rear lights!

What other cars were in the class you won?

Looks good mate - track days are so much fun!

Cheers mate :)

If memory serves me correct, there was another 8P S3, a 2.0T A3, an E46 M3 amongst others. The E46 M3 sadly went into a barrier and suffered quite some damage...I'm awaiting the results to see who exactly was in my class.

Trackday pics are nice... (and, btw, the cars look stunning!)

Incar videos are better...:racer:

This is an episode during the last trackday in Monza (15 february), I missed the braking point and entered the second chicane with the foot still on the brake...:keule:

If you like, I have posted some footage of Misano, Varano and the Ring on youtube...

I reckon guys that have pics as well as vids of their S3s on the track should post them up here...should make for an awesome photo and vid thread:icon_thumright:

Ouch - Would have been good to see the results against the M3 - Sure you would have eaten it with your mods but times would have been good :D

Congrats on winning the class :D

BTW, Are your BBS CK easy to source in South Africa? My mums from Kenya, Nairobi (East Africa i think) and going there soon so might get her to shove a set in her suitcase and bring them back for me! lol We got nothing here :(

@Macs, i overcooked a bend somewhat too and did some ploughing:ohmy: Luckily I kept my cool and got the car back on the track BUT only lost 1second on my previous lap time:rockwoot:

Thanks mate. At the moment not easy at all to get a set of BBS. The only guy that brings them in imports as per customer request and it is by no means cheap when comparing it to UK and US pricing....

Yep, Milltek non resonated...
Love that music...

That's what I like of trackdays. You miss a bend and just go on the grass or dirt or sand... Almost zero risks...

Then, on your way back home, you realize that all that obstacles on the roadside are so close to you that also the smallest mistake will not be forgiven..

I must admit that, since experiencing this sense of safety on different tracks, I have become a more cautious driver on the road...

Bumpity Bump

I am loving your alloys. I have been looking at them and TSW Crofts, so it is nice to finally see them in different views.

:respekt:

Ok mate - you know I always do as I'm told:
My car doesn't look much like this now - it was 7 weeks old when I did this day in Anglesey. Slippery, slidey, dangerous - fun !

Liking this image/angle alot as it really puts the car colour for me in a much better light & overall stance of the S3, some angles dont give it much cred for me when I look at any 8P, but this ones cool

Rabbit car looking amazing. Must say do you do get some great photo of your car:thumbsup: One of the best looking S3 i've ever seen. Also one of my favourties
Hope your enjoying the car mate. Looks like a good day

Looks like a fun day :)

Sad to say though, but the pre-facelift S3 currently looks very very old compared to the facelift one :(

Yesterday (March 26) at Franciacorta racetrack in northern Italy, trying to turn EBC YellowStuff into EBC GlowStuff... :)

Very nice :applaus:
What were the speeds drops like for it to glow?

Not much, in that particular point you brake from 122 km/h to around 72 km/h.

What makes them glow is the fact that prior to that turn you make 3 similar turns with similar decelerations without having long straights in the middle to cool down.
