I dont really like badging cars what they arnt but as i had the S-Line front Grille (looks nicer and you cant remove badge)
i finshed with the Side Badges to match the front. Its not like im badging a 1.4 Golf as an R32.

Good work! What a fantastic Christmas present!

Awesome job mate and she should love you to bits!

How much was it altogether?

To be fair though, fitting the interior and exterior of an S-Line pretty much makes it an S-Line so the badges have a right to be there :icon_thumright:

Yes its only a trim level. It is a true S-Line really. Bet the insurance would be confused if you ever had to claim, touch wood you won't.

David

Excellent work mate!

Where was she when all this was happening to her car?

True S-Line now! :)

Well thats me decided, I'm gonna get some RS6 wheels as I always thought they were the best for the 8P by a mile, pity you didnt upgrade the headlights to xenon at same time, but good job anyway mate, really is.

Cheers guys,

Would have liked Xenons, but cost me enough and she might not even notice, theres a boot full of presents which im sure she look at more :)

Hi Have you painted the wheels? if so what colour did you use, they look very nice as does the whole car, nice job.

That looks awesome!

Looks like a real S-Line :D

Why dont girls do this for guys

Kaz - "My A3 needs to be remapped, can you buy me a ST3?"
Other Half - "F Off! - I'm choosing what I'm buying you"
Kaz - "Ok, Guess Socks or Tie or Cufflinks it is then" :crying:

Thats one hell of a present!
Hope she noticed all the work???

Q.. are the standard S-Line springs lower than the Sport ?

The Eibach Sportline Springs are 50mm

Whats the difference in the ride with the springs on mate? Have you got some new pics with them set?

Car looks really nice, did she like it?

Lee

Just rediscovered this thread - Nice one Lee!

I'm also very interested in how the car has been riding on the lower springs and in seeing further pics to see how the car has settled.

Thanks
Ron

Yes I read that.

I was wondering though is there a difference in the standard springs fitted to S-line trim model compared with Sport trim model. 2.0TDI models I mean

the sline springs are lower and stiffer than the stadard springs.

20mm lower i think

The headlining is the only give away now ....

The black headlining only became standard in the last couple of years right? I'm sure I had to specify black headling when I previous owned one.
I may be wrong...

Hi, 1st post, great thread.

I have a S line Sportback 2.0tdi DSG pre 2006.

The car didint come with the front spoiler or the rear s line roof spoiler. It has all seats, lining and badges etc.

There are loads of threads on the front end I know what I need and how to do it.
But I have searched high and low for a thread on swapping my roof spolier.

Can you please post up the part number and also is there any clues as to how to swap it once painted.

Many thanks

I think you either have a roof spoiler or you don't.
If you'd like to fit one it's quite simple - just bond it on top of the tailgate.

i thought you needed to change the bonnet to put the facelift front bumper on?

But even so what a hell of a present mate!

Hi Don, thanks for the reply.

I do already have a roof spoiler but it is a shallow one and not like the larger S line one that was fitted as standard after 2006 on slines.

I dont wish to attempt to pull it off without knowing how to fit the replacment and also how is the brake light connected.

The O/P will have done exactly what I need to do, from his pictures.

The car in the OP would've had no spoiler mate.
It may look as if you have a "shallow" spoiler but infact it's just the basic construction of the tailgate.

The Spoiler fitted in the OP (Original S-Line) is around £150 from your loacl dealer (not painted) and fits on top of the tailgate.

Don, ahh, penny drops, so what I have is just part of the tailgate and the s line fits on top of it.
Thanks, I'll pop to the dealers to price it up

excellent work there mate looks top notch!

I also have a pre06 3 door s line like A Rowley. could someone tell me what all is involved with doing the front end conversion? are new fog lights and fog light surrounds required?

I would also like the roof spoiler and rear bumper ?

Does anyone have part numbers for these and the front end/fog lights and whatever else is required?

any help would be much appreciated

thanks

Am i right in thinking the 'sport' an the 's-line' models had the same suspension?
All the same - great job fella!!:yum:
