has anyone had any experiences or deelings with these as a company in the past, seems like a decent price for the remap and will come out to do it. is the torque figure realistic? 70nm gain of torque seems quite a bit to me. anyway would jus appreciate a few people's thoughts or if anyone has had any dealings with them

year mate i know someone who had there TT re-mapped by these guys and he couldnt recomend them more, there vag specialists and one of the guys there has a polo turbo like hes tuned, im gettin mine done there once i can afford it

What i dont understand, and this goes for most of these remap company's is why they say they they can get more from a 180 bhp motor than they can from a 150 bhp motor... thier basically the same engine..... same turbo etc the 180 motor has the same K03 turbo which has a max of 200BHP on a good day so where are they getting the power from ??? or are they just over inflating the power figures gained on a 180 motor because 20 BHP gain dosnt seem to be worth paying a lot of money for compared to a 50 BHP gain on the 150 motors..... hope that all makes sense ??? and if it does perhaps someone could explain it to me.... i've often considered a remap on my 180 Quattro but the 20 BHP just dont seem worth the money.. + the thought of my turbo being right on it's limmit... one company even told me Audi introduced parts earlier than they say and that my 1999 car would have a K03S fitted as standard.... i don't think so.....

the 180bhp car has the KO3S turbo, the 150bhp has the KO3...thats the simple difference

So you also reckon my 1999 AJQ engined Quattro will have a K03S turbo ???? i'm really gonna have take the tip off and count those vanes.... if that was the case i would be happier with a remap

AJQ
Date: 11/98-08/00
Drive: Haldex 4WD
Emission: non-VVT, EU3
Throttle: cable
Injectors: big
Turbo: K03
Gearbox: ? (5 Speed)

yup the change over for drive by wire was in 99, my (99)T plate wasnt

my understanding is that the 2wd 150bhp engine had ko3 turbo, the quattro 180bhp had the k03s model hence the power hike

Cheers. I assume the other VAG engines with about 180bhp have the K03 too? (i.e my mates Octavia vRS?)

K03s i beleive.... some have ko4 i think dpending on what car/model seat/skoda

Hi,

As far as turbos go.... and this is not a complete list...

Cable throttle K03
DBW 150, 163, 180, 190 K03s
DBW 210, 225, 240 K04

But then there are slight variations on the K03s and K04...

There are also differences in other hardware even between 150 and 180, like in the cylinder head. Then the 210 and 225 have strengthened internals with lower compression, different injectors, MAF, etc...

150 BHP models as standard run approx 0.5-0.6 bar so remapping to 1.0 bar (+other software mods) is safe and makes plenty more power.

180 BHP models as standard run approx 0.6-0.7 bar so remapping to 1.0 bar plus again is OK, because it breathes slightly better then you get slightly better power figures.

And here we are talking good strong safe tunes... much more is possible but not always a good idea.. especially without hardware mods....

Regards J

Thanks for that... it was me that mailed asking for your comments... so basically your saying my 1999 A3 Quattro 180 engine code AJQ with DBW should have a K03s turbo ?? am i right in thinking the only to be totally sure though is to remove the tip and count the vanes ??... also would you be able to map that car with one of your mobile units or would it involve removing the ECU as i've heard has to done on some of the earlier ones..

Once again thanks for the comments.. regards Mark

No probs mark...

Its K03s - and pushed safely will make 215.... pushed harder 220.... crazy hard push and much more... but like we say.... we want safe, fun, reliable power...

You are close enough to visit us and so you get it very cheap... and I would prefer that so we can check the car more thoroughly...

Often 1.8T have silly things wrong with them which we have to fix first.

Regards J

How long is the offer on for?

I always thought my AJQ engine had the ko3 turbo on it but mines also DBW so going by this tread i've got the ko3s so remap is on the cards

Was about to ask the same question, 175 quid is a well good price, hope its still around at end of month when i get paid.:blackrs4:

All Booked up. spoke to them today. goin in early sat morning, price is £225 which includes the latest bosch recirculating valve as mine on the car at the mo is shafted.will let you all know how it goes :rockwoot:

im going to more-bhp place in cheshire. looking forward to the weekend now

Looking foward to the results to see how much more power you get from it.

If its defently a k03s on mine then i'll book a remap next week

How come the BHP gain on the S3 is only 254 compared to 262 for example (APR @ Awesome GTI)

id imagine because different companies use different maps and set the turbo's running different pressures etc im sure another company could map the S3 to 270bhp by giving even more boost but there comes a point when your going to be comprimising reliability which is not what we want. what i want is a good power gain without comprimising reliability dramatically, or even at all if possible.

im sure someone else will popint you in the right direction if i am wrong :whistle2:

i did indeed. car does feel quite a bit more pokey but not as dramatic difference as some people have previously stated. seem to get better mpg too now when just driving normally. very happy with the service, spopt on bloke, very knowledgeable does very good price services etc too  would be interested to get it on a rolling road now its mapped.

had 2 of my cars done at morebhp, great service and great results

my car is a 1.8t quattro 180 bhp. the estimated now is about 213 bhp, ive do doubt that the car feels quicker and more responsive and worth the money for the remap! i think its just more im used to my R1 for power and nothing in a car can really compare.
