This has got to be the nicest looking S3. Ever.

Must really suck living somewhere sunny. I really would tire of hot girls, not driving round on gritting roads, and breaking my back cleaning my car, only for it to be **** up again 2 mins down the road.
Sweet S3!

Ahh! Detailing! Love of my life... About £200-300. And then keep on top of it by washing it with the right stuff. No sponge etc..

Not for the best - the best (Polished Bliss, OffYourMarks etc.) will cost you that per day.

My S4 set me back circa £600, but the results were worth every penny!

The thing is, bar Clark up Aberdeen no one is any different. A lot charge £500-600 and is no better than some charging far less. It should cost you no more than £30/hour.
I had mine done by Autoshine (Tony spears from Swissvax) he used to train all the Swissvax detailers. He charged me £300 and the job was second to none. He said the same, no need to charge much more than £300, it's just greed.

yea i said it on there rabbits car must be the nicest s3 i've seen

Matt is a topman, I could have stayed and watched him work all day. Always has some top motors in there.
Its a bitch to find though, even with shatnav.

Spent a couple of hours with him last week chatting it through - I liked the fact it was hard to find (very secure !). What a gentleman he is. Your car looks fantastic.

Not true to say that beyond Clark at Polished Bliss all are the same - it was Polished Bliss who recommended Matt to me and they said his work is of the same standard as theirs and that he only other detailer they would recommend. Having seen his work in the flesh and followed lots of threads on DW etc. there was no hesitation in booking it in. Very excited I am too.

Jeez! this **** isnt cheap.:scared2:

I know - but you only need it doing once. Then they tell you how to wash and care for your car so that it stays this way and doesn't need doing again. So £500 over the lifetime of the car isn't too bad.

If I thought I could keep it like that I would certainly consider the outlay.

The S4 would take me an hour to wash and detail after I had it done. Wash with Zymol, rinse, dry with a leaf blower and top up with hand glaize. Used to look just as it did after it was done too!!
Why oh why oh why did I sell it though! !

Ha ha - yeah Matt told me to put a leaf blower on my birthday list too.
PaulAr - a couple of peaceful hours with your tunes on your earphones, away from the kids, caressing your S3. Bliss.

Mattfinn - what's the answer to your own question ? Why did you sell such a lovely car ?

Damn! That's a shiny *** car. I wasn't aware that it was possible to get the paint back to such a standard, looks brand new.

Sweet S4 btw, mattfinn.

Yup thats Rabbit222's S3 down here in sunny South Africa

Top detail job and down here its a fair bit cheaper. In GBP that would probably be 100 pounds for all the work

I love those wheels!

Me too. How would you manage to keep on top of those with all the salt and **** on our roads.

Looks amazing

I'd love a set of those BBS but having owned CH's on one of my old Golf's, I really don't miss cleaning them!

that is lovely, if i thought i could keep it looking that good i would consider it but with our roads/weather and the mileage i do its just not worh it for me..very good job though..

Was either gonna kill me, or put me in prison for a longtime. I drive for work, and need a clean licence, it was too fast hahah!!
In response to some questions on here about maintaining the finish, it really is easy, and the beading means not alot sticks to the car, especially after you boot it :) Used to be good going from normal speed to joining the M-way, the water would all fly up off the bonnet and screen. Also to touch the paint was like polished glass.
If I knew I was 100% going to keep my SB, id do it all again.
