Police are appealing for witnesses to the theft of a black Audi S3 from a property in Aspen Drive, Longford, Coventry at just before 9.30pm on Wednesday evening, 4 February.

Three or four men dressed in black and wearing balaclavas are reported to have broken into the property and threatened the occupants with what is believed to be a shotgun. They demanded the keys to the Audi before stealing it off the driveway.

No-one was injured during the incident.

Officers are appealing for witnesses who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area at around the time of the burglary. Police believe the offenders travelled to the area in a light coloured vehicle and may have driven without lights on, in the immediate vicinity of Aspen Drive.

DC Andrew Lea said "It is a tight network of roads and it is possible people living locally may have seen the men before they put the balaclavas on or the vehicle parked nearby. Please contact us straight away if you noticed any suspicious activity near Aspen Drive."

Officers made an immediate search of the area and police enquiries are ongoing. PCSOs are carrying out house to house enquiries to establish further witnesses.

If you have any information that could help police identify the men involved, please asked to contact DC 793 Andrew Lea in Nuneaton CID on 02476 641111 or voicemail 10793

You an also provide information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111

Jase

Its not yours is it???

Bad news man, I'm guessing it's an 8P version, lots of those being stolen, 8L is no longer desireable as they use to be in my opinion.

I was gonna say I didnt think was voorhees as his was 8L, did have me thinking though, why would 4 blokes wanna steal a low value car now, no disrespect to S3 8L owners as I miss mine alot, but truth is they're not worth the money like 8P's huh & to all that trouble would seem stupid unless it was a monster S3 stolen to order or he owed money, **** anyway cause what do we have to have now in the house, a safe room like that movie with Jodie lesbefriends Foster, its getting out of hand

There's the goverment saying about gun/knife crime but they still allow these knives to be sold & there's a market for guns aswell, kinda contradiction interms huh

no not my car, they'd need more than a pesky shotgun the mofo's.

Scary, horrible story. Your post made me think though NHN - even 8Ps aren't worth enough to risk an 8-12 year term for armed robbery/aggravate burglary/manslaughter/murder. Dealers can't shift them for love nor money. Supposing they got £15k for it (that must be top-end for a nicked second hand one) its under £4,000 each for these 4 low-lifes.

I reckon you must be closer to the truth with your second guess. Still grim though.

Uh think about it, 4 guys to steal 1 car, sorry but I'm fairly streetwise, it doesnt need 4 guys really doesnt, not I do this myself ok before any ideas on me, lol, even one guy with a gun would make you hand over mostly huh

But they would steal for shipping out or parts, simple as that, no way they'd resell in UK, no way.

Even stranger then - for parts or shipping out you would be looking at £12k tops after shipping/stripping costs. That's £3k per man. Not worth it surely ?
They could each do over an off licence for less risk and the same gain.

hey economy, 3k is alot of money for anyone, mostly 2 months mortgage, not these guys have a mortgage, also say they do 1 a week, 3k a week, urrrmmm I know thats better than city boys, off license is more risky, really is, complications of buyers, cameras etc etc, like I said I dont indulge in these stupid things but if you think sensibly(& watch americas dumbest criminals) you'll see how things can easily go wrong, its muscle, 4 guys, in/out easy peasy 3k in the sky rocket, but tbh, 3k each very very much doubt it, more like 1k each & rest to the actual guy whose getting shot of car/parts, but strange 4 guys, does he owe money, cause it would have to be something like that with a shotgun, that really is strange cause to date not heard of that with so many tealeaves

I personally think that Scum who can pull this type of sh!t off aren't intelligent enough to know about prison terms and consiquences etc., they just think that you are/should be insured, so all will be fine at the end of the day.

not another one! We really need an immob that cuts out after say, 5 miles. That lets the get far away from the owner but stops them from getting it away.

It was stolen for an armed robbery or they would not of used a weapon to take it as surely its the same difference?
It'll be found burnt out somewhere

lets do a armed blagg in a 2 door car ,as if !!

Thanks for your useful post but S3's come in 5 door now

it was on the news in April last year....:jester:

This was a mate of mines Car that got nicked it was an 08 plate, he didnt owe money, he was at his mums house, and these 4 from what i have heard threw something threw the window and stuck the shot gun through the hole they had just made, not sure on the in and outs, but i know they are scum and i hope they get who ever did it.

RIP S3, i would attach a picture of it, but dont know how to :-(

You need to upload the image to a site like photobucket then link the image to your post by clicking on the yellow square box above the text box that looks like a mountain inside, there you put your full link from photobucket in which then shows the image
