Retro Fit Acoustic Parking Sensors

did you decide to go with these, or did you choose something else

i went for original audi ones in the end they are well good pick up everything

I've just fitted one of these to my A4, really quite impressed - and like it says - there's no drilling involved, so the car looks standard.

However - the hidden side of our rear bumpers are a bit awkward to feed the sensor through......

Hello mate :hi:

Any pics of them fitted?

(I'm sure you have) ;)

:notme: as it happens, I'm halfway through relocating the 'wire' - cos I took the easy route first time, mounted it low down and ended up picking up the road when I backed out of my drive way........

So - the green line shows were the sensor is now mounted, having passed it behind all the support moulding, the red line shows where I originally mounted it.

Although I went for the one with the LED display :whistle2:

If you look on the left you can see the 'end' of the sensor (C) sticking out from the tape - this just connects to a wire, which in turn goes to the control unit.

For the new position, I taped the sensor to the end of a hacksaw blade, passed it through behind the moundings, then taped it into place using black Duck tape.

And here's what it looks like when it's finished :

:o.k:

Not exactly an easy fit then!

They are certainly discrete! So discrete I can't even see them :keule: Where are the sensors in the bottom pic?

The very bottom photo shows the car once put back together. The whole idea is that you can't see the 'sensor' cos it's the metallic strip which mounted inside the rear bumper, as shown on the first photo :sly:

Installation is really quite easy - once you work out where all the fixings for the rear bumper are

Ah I see, sorry my mistake. I thought you had fitted the ones from the bottom link that go on the number plate surround. Your's looks a very discrete clever system, do they work ok?

Hi Rich,

Atfer having them fitted for a while now, would you recommend them?

Any issues with them?

Cheers
Rich.

Yes I would recommend the kit I used..........

The only downside is false readings when the rear bumper is either wet, or indeed covered in snow!!!!

Other than that - it's great
