Hi guys

I want to order the lighting unit with the map reading lights and led holes for my S3. I have the part numbers for the LEDs thanks to JohnS3 but dont know how to get the part number for the unit. Stealers are useless so have to find out and give them exact part number

I understand that the part number depends on a few things. In my case, I've got black rooflining, have sunroof, but dont have airbag unit.

Also if anyone can provide part number for the rear lighting unit with map reading lights too.

Thanks!

Would the part number be written on the unit? i've got the rear map lights in mine and can yank em out and have a look for you as long as it's not a waste of time

Wow thats really kind of you to be willing to go through all that for a part number. Appreciate the gesture mate

No idea if the part number would be on it. Would be easier if anyone with ETKA can post up the relevant part numbers or someone whos ordered the exact same part before can post up. Wouldnt want you removing stuff you dont need to

Thanks a lot though

Hi Scorpius

Recently bought a copy of ETKA, still learning how to use it, is this any help:-

Thanks!
Just not sure how to read it though. I'm guessing its the last one which specifies vehicles with sliding roof (i.e. sunroof?) and also that its black so probably 8P0 947 106 6PS then?

Looking in ETKA,

Front light unit with reading light for vehicles with sunroof (no airbag light)
8E0 947 106 6PS (the 6PS bit means it's black)
Use if required 8E0 947 565, which is a cover, item 20 in the above image

Rear light unit with reading lights (2 parts shown)
8E0 947 111 A 6PS
or
8E0 947 111 B 6PS

LED unit (required for retrofit into rear unit)
8E0 919 063 A

I've changed the image in my previous post to the correct one as per JohnS3. (It was further down the page!)

Thanks John

Hummm..so for my 3.2 S-line with black roof, no sunroof, and no airbag light the number is? I'd like to retrofit the map light and red LEDs as mine does not have them.

Thanks :)

Front light unit with reading light for vehicles with no sunroof (no airbag light)
8E0 947 135 D 6PS (the 6PS bit means it's black)
Use if required 8E0 947 565, which is a cover, item 20 in the above image
(The image above shows the part you require!!)

Thank you, i'll get that ordered in the morning. I take it the unit comes complete with the bulbs and red LEDs?

:D

I believe it does, it's a complete part. I'm not sure about item 20, I cant see anything that looks like that on mine.

Might be an idea to double check the part number with Audi just to be sure!

Hiya,

Wondered if you would let us know how much this mod costs when you get it done and all installed. Would be great to know bcse I like this change you're working on. I just received a new A3 Sportback but didn't go for the map reading lights, so this could be a option to get the fitted afterwards...

Cheers,

Rich

Sure Rich
Though I'm in South Africa so costs cant really be comparable. MF-Racing's comments would be more useful re pricing. There are a few guys here who've already done it so I'm sure they can give an idea of costs in the UK

i saw on e bay an a4 light and all the bits inside so i got it for £15, then all i done was swap the switches over and the cover was the same :) bargin :)

just to confirm the correct part to up grade for my A3 would be 8E0 947 135 D 6PS ?
Thanks

If you have no sunroof, no airbag light and have a black roof, then yes.

Hi guys,

Finally got round to fitting my new internal light. I bought the complete light unit from my local Audi dealer, which includes all Main and Map lights, ambient lights (red LEDs) and all bulbs at a cost of £60.68+VAT.

The fitting was really easy, just two screws (crosshead) to undo, disconnect the wiring, transfer over the alarm sensors to the new light unit (if you have them), screw new unit in place and everything works (no coding needed)! I now have map land ambient lights!

To confirm the correct part number for the complete part (with no sunroof, no airbag light, and S-Line black rooflining) is A 8E0 947 135 D6 PS

Thanks for all the help guys! (off to fit my RNS-E and Aluminium pedals now!)

Matt :salute:

One of my map bulbs blew, and I'm dumbstruck on how to access it. Judging from this picture, I just have to pull the cover downwards, right? Can someone please confirm.

Where exactly do I grab?

<still cant believe I'm asking this>

Pull the interior light cover off by gently prying it down, then pull off the faceplate (shown in your pic) by lifting gently in one corner and working your way around it.

Thanks John.

Drove to the dealer today to have it fixed. The service guy didnt even bother to bill me for the bulb change:laugh:

lol! what would be the part number for an a3 tdi sport normal colour roof lining?! lol no sun roof for map reading lights and ambient lights.

thanks
