So with all the salt on the roads I've realized quite how rubbish my wiper rubber is :( anyone got a good place to buy replacements from online?

Cheers
Sam

I kow this sounds a bit duhhhh, but have you tried wiping your existing ones with a rag soaked in vinager? It did the trick for mine:icon_thumright:

IMO it's not worth the hassle of ordering online - I just went to my local AUdi dealer and picked up a full set - for less than they would have cost online

I recently tried www.wiperblades.co.uk, but it annoyed me.
They have a 'car selector' thing, which is great.
But it kept trying to push me towards hyper-expensive blades, when cheaper ones were definitely available.
In the end, I just used Halfords online car selector and reserved a set at the local shop.
They're working great (flat blade things, Halfords own brand).

Out of interest this is a link to a eBay shop selling Bosch Aero Wipers for the A3 for £23.46 plus £4.84 postage.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BOSCH-AEROTWI...45645QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262

The price for the same Bosch blades on www.wiperblades.co.uk is £28.70 plus postage.

I just had a new set fitted by my dealer but as the car is covered by a maintenance agreement I didn't have to pay.

how are you finding the Bosch Aerotwins - better than OEM? or did the dealer just fit oems again? I been meaning to get a set for ages now! lol

I have just had a new set of whatever Audi fit as standard. I must admit mine were getting pretty bad, missing quite large areas whenever I washed the screen, mostly on the passenger side. But with the new ones everything is back to as good as when the car was new.

Dave, how do you get to the rear wiper, does the long cover come off?

For some reason better known to itself my copy of Elsawin does not want to load properly this afternoon. By looking at Etka, the small cover over the drive pin pulls off to reveal a nut. Remove this nut and the whole wiper cover comes off with the blade attached. At least that's what it looks like from the diagrams.

It's interesting about the comments about front wipers frozen to the screen. I recently spent a week in a small village in the mountains near Davos in Switzerland. And it snowed very heavily for almost two days solid. There was a good 600-750mm of snow on all the chalet roofs. Some of the parked cars looked a bit like a snow drift! But one thing I did notice was that almost all the drivers lifted their wipers off the screen whenever they parked for more than a few minutes. The temperature was around or below freezing during the day and down to -9C at night. They are obviously more used to those conditions. At least all the trains kept running and mostly to time as well.

My copy of Elsawin is now up and running again and the procedure for changing the rear wiper blade is in fact much simpler than I described in my earlier post.

All you have to do is lift the whole rear wiper arm off the screen and the actual blade just unclips from the plastic cover. No need to remove the arm from it's spindle.

lol - I found out how easy it was to do after about 30 minutes of trying to pry out a clip with a screwdriver.

Didn't realise you had to actually lift up the bonnet to do it - although this is a great security method.

if you flick the wiper stalk when the car has the key in and is not on (IIRC), they come to the middle of the screen so you can lift them and clean/change them!

I just replaced mine with Bosch 930S AeroTwins (A3 Sportback 2005), using the manual it was easy as.

Anyone know where to get the rear blade? - can't find anywhere online, do you just get them from an Audi dealer?
