cruising along at 80 - 90, about 3500 revs...getting the brain to pump a half pint of blood to the base of my right foot (you need the sprintbooster fitted to appreciate the effect), and then feeling it go.

I also like cleaning it.

I should get organised enough to go on a track day too...

(Or find a private road!!)

Cheers,

80-90 kilometres an hour I hope

how is the sprintbooster..ho much difference did it make?

try that in a car thats 1200kg and 315bhp. its fun:yes:

Well a lot of people think its witchcraft playing about with the electronics, but I reckon it was £100 well spent. It transforms the response you get from the throttle. A slight squeeze and it responds.

I've never heard of sprintbooster before but just looked it up and it sounds very interesting. Where do you order them from? The website I found wanted £170 which is a tad steep for a new throttle controller!

That sounds about right, ive shopped around and found them for £140 (ebay) before but youve got to add on the cost of fitting them because i think thats around £70-90 for fitting, could be wrong but in the end i know there not cheap. hope that helps.

Jon at VAGTech had one and did a special price for me. It took him 15 mins to fit it.

I spent £100 on it, and to me it was very good value for money.

Audi Driver did an article last year about it.

Surely fitting it yourself cant be too difficult?

any links to the article from Audi Driver???

I would imagine not

No, just something I saw when I was browsing in Borders

Sounds interesting, what exactly are they then...Surely a chip is far better!

Most cars in the 21st century have replaced the more conventional throttle cable for an ECM (Electronic Control Module) that translates how hard the pedal is pushed into electronic signals in order to provide power to the wheels.
The ETC (Electronic Throttle Control), which is also known as Drive-By-Wire, has the unfortunate downside of delayed response and subdued acceleration, which can create problems in certain situations such as up-hill starts, quick gearchanges and overtaking. The Sprint Booster aims to overcome this throttle response delay for ETC equipped vehicles, by providing crisp, on-tap acceleration for whenever the driver demands it. Get more from your car, fit a Sprint Booster now!
Results[COLOR=#fffff]
  • At low revs, the engine responds at approximately half the time in comparison to before.
  • The delay time whilst accelerating in 3rd and 4th gear and the engine in the mid-range, is almost zero.
  • Big differences in the higher rev range.
  • Improved response for downshifts and safer overtaking.
  • Overall safety and more fun on the road!
