just a quick question, ive got a 99A4 avant, prefacelift.

Ive just fitted some facelift leather but the airbg plugs under the seats are different old plugs are a 2 pin RED/BLUE plug new plug is 3 pin RED/BLUE and a twisted RED/w/white what i want to know is can i simply cut my old plugs off my old seats and solder my old plug on? using the red-red/blue-blue and leave the red/w/white redundant?

jsut dont want to try it and it to fire my airbags off lol! chris

The third cable on the facelift seats is the earth. On pre-facelift, the earth goes to the large red connector.

You could get a pair of three pin plugs and just switch the earth wire from the red plug to the airbag connector.

ah brilliant, so on the big red plug im assuming the 2 wires on my new seats are the power for the lumbar support, or for heating? thye look like s4 seats and im new to a4s so dont know what came with what just yet

cheers

chris

yeah and an escort now to!

got rid of the euro'd polo and got a 2.5tdi avant now :)

****** ell all the F.T lot are on here lol... seems Audi is the place to be after a Fiesta Turbo

definately, bored of little diesel runarounds, needed something more substantial :)

haha, i still have my fords, and my skyline, audi is the reliable and economical one haha

That's where it starts but it's a slippery slope. You've already changed the interior. lol

I said "it's the daily car, no mods". Whoops

TBH i think once the modifying bug is in your blood, its very unlikely your NOT going to modify even the daily driver.

Our A4 is a daily driver, and while i have modified it a little, i laid down some ground rules. Once dawn graduates and is earning a proper wage, we plan to upgrade to a quattro model. So i decided that any mods must be either cheap, or transferrable onto the new car.

I've managed to make the car look better by painting the wheels and grille etc, and upgraded the brakes, because they were in need of replacement anyway, and the larger items can be easily fitted to a quattro once we upgrade. But i've limited myself to not changing the suspension or suchlike becuase it wont be transferrable. I've not changed the wheels, because anything larger doubles the cost of tyres, and we're doing 350miles a week so it gets very expensive etc.

I guess you need to do something similar. If you set down some good rules at the beginning, and properly justify them, it makes it easier to stick to them when that tasty cheap part comes along on ebay to tempt you ;)

done this today, cheers for the info :) all working again now, without the ****** airbag light glaring at me! lol

all my runarounds have been modded, vento, green fiesta, 205dturbo, aubergine fiesta, green fiesta again, fiesta van, polo

cant be driving somethign **** everyday cos then i'd be wanting to drive the skyline everyday, ;)

havent any uploaded as of yet, will sort them over the weekend
