Rear ride height higher than front?..

Hey guys,
Spent a load of time on my car over the past few days getting ready for a once and for ABS fix, getting the window fixed, dash board lights, numerous wee bits and pieces that I've lying around (plastic rear seat locator - no more squeeky seat!) etc and have decided that the front of my car appears to be sitting low.

1yr ago the Left rear spring was replaced, the old one had broken and the rear end was sitting low.

About 3 months ago both rear shocks were changed along with various bushes and a couple of arms. It was noted that the front shocks appear to showing signs of leakage.

Would weakend front shocks effect the ride height, I thought that was all taken care of by the springs?, which are now up to 234K, maybe they're just a bit tired?

Just thought I'd ask as telly is crap tonight and I'm sick fed up of eating Quality street.

if your cars a sport is it possible that someones fitted non-sport rear springs?

Dampers wont affect the ride height, but old springs can sag.

Perhaps its time for that eibach/bilstein combo... Or if your not up for spending that kinda cash, perhaps fitting less worn springs and dampers, like the set JCB was selling would be a good idea.

AYe, I made sure that the new rear spring that went on was the correct one. Waiting on the work coming in before I can get any new stuff and I think the missus would throw a fit if I went for a sweet wee eibach/bilstein combo. :O(

Avant is meant to have a slight rake - i.e, the rear's slightly higher than the front, due to the rear axle load rating.

its not like that on the B7, my A4 Sline is really low in the back end, and especially so under load. When we go camping the rear wheel dissapears into the arches. Wont be a problem for much longer though as the car goes back to the lease company : ).

Our avant looks lower at the rear than the front ever so slightly.

It might have a slight rake, but due to the rear arch being lower than the front on the bodyshell the tyre looks closer to the arch.

so am I, and my sport shocks and springs that are for sale are still here too!!
PM me as the guy who bought them last week on eBay didn't cough up.


my avant has a slightly higher rear as the coilovers are set that way, better aerodynamics and means I can chuck tons of stuff in the back!
