been looking at a 08 s3 and have noticed a few cars with recaros the same as the rs4, are they a good option or are the standard seats just as good or better in some cases thanks aldo286

i have them in my 57 s3..

i have them for cosmetic reasons only as i think they look the part, but as many will tell you they are not very practicle...

the seats dont pull forward and recline very far due to the size of the bolsters..and the design...

they suit me tho, if you have a 3 door and are in and out the back constantly then they do get frustrating to use i find

horses for courses i suppose

but overall a comfy good looking seat imo

hope this helps

thanks s3 , i have to agree they look the dogs bolloks and the back seats will hardly be used as its only me and the missus now the prob is i am 6"2" and 17 stone , i havnt sat in them yet only seen them on the net and i dont want them to be to snug, i know the easy answer is to go and try them but my dealer dosnt have a car with them thanks aldo 286

I have the normal seats in mine which are fine, didn't go for the RS4 style as I thought they were to expensive at the time. Although they do look the business and would defo consider them in my next car should it be another S3 or similar. As for the comfort I have tried them and found them ok, albeit a little tight and I am alot smaller than yourself, so you may struggle, definately source a car to try them before you decide.

i think they are slightly smaller than the rs4's, i could be wrong tho, and yes they are very snug....

i suppose it depends on how much you going use them, i only use the s3 maybe 3/4 times a week, but if its going be constantly used i would suggest otherwise...

what you will find is that the side bolsters are high and if you use the car a great deal they become quite a hinderence...

if your anywhere near stoke your more than welcome try mine out, thats if its not in the garage by then lol...

I think they may be a touch smaller, maybe due to width of the car.

Didnt know they where a bit smaller - but they are great - do really like mine and it makes the car look that bit more special.
Do echo what is said in regards to them been a bit impratical if need to use the rear seats a lot !

I'm not 100% sure but the RS4 seat is different due to it going in a 4 door car, no tilt except in the convertable. I do agree about the looks though.

I've specced them in my S3 Sportback, but if I was going for the three door I would have been snookered (with two kids) and would have had to opt for the standard seats. As said they do not tilt very far at all and I think most would struggle getting in and out of the back of the car.

I have them in mine. To be truthful they look excellent and compliment the car well. There have been a few people complain about the strength of the bolsters and the fact they start to look worn very quickly. They are also not the easiest to get into.....its a sort of slide over the bolsters without f**king up your 2K option.
