Hi everyone, I have been off here for some time but just happened to logon
this evening, firstly im sorry to hear that some of you guys have had your cars stolen and hope they catch the f*ckers !!!

I couldnt help but notice all the references to manc/liverpool in one of the threads, Last Saturday around 10.30 I happened to look out the window to find to guys at the cars, when I confronted them one of them told me be quiet and that they were playing "hide n seek, having been chased" (this was in a scouse accent) - after staring at me silent for a couple of minutes they casually turned around and walked off up the road at which point a further two of them emerged from the side of my neighbours garden, they reached a few houses down and then ran, the police have said that they are coming from mersey side for specific orders ??

It was interesting to see that some of you have had similar or somewhat similar experiences and incidentally ive just heard that micah richards and roque santa cruz have both been burgaled/robbed for cars n jewellery in the last month and both live spitting distance away!!!

I hope these guys get whats coming to them..

It seems as though the northwest seems to be the area for all this car crime - a friend in Bradford got his Golf GTI nicked and he's not seen it since (2 weeks ago) - It's a shame as he spent a fair bit modifying it...

Speaking to him the other day, apparently, they strip them into pieces and send them abroad in pieces dressed as scrap metal and re-assemble them there as containers are getting inspected more and more frequently...or some just ship them..

It's a shame but i really do hope these pr!cks get whats coming to them...

Think of it as buying a new car, except its the less expensive illegal and evil way - that's unfortunatly what a "ordered" stolen vehicle is.

I really believe glancing in your mirrors, garaging and being careful where you go can help. I know it won't eliminate the risk but it does something, the rest of the risk is what you are willing to bare.

I hope these guys get whats coming to them..

Anything can happen, if it is an order it may be shipped to a foriegn country or someone in the UK has it on fake plates or it is stored away to see if it is tracked, etc

The laws here give the confidence, if we were allowed to defend ourselves against thieves there is no way they would have that much confidence. The crap thing is this happens up and down the country, we just hear about the reported ones. :banghead:

Hey all,

Just to agree with a few sentiments on a number of threads - I also own an S3 and live in the Manchester area. A couple of weeks ago I had an attempted carjacking as I pulled up outside my flat - blocked in from behind, 2 jumped out and tried each door simultaneously but luckily the engine was still running so the doors were still locked. Bizarely, the 2 then walked off in the direction I came from and the car went forward a bit to turn around, allowing me to reverse out. Scarily, one of the 2 walking produced a 2 foot long machete in an attempt to scare me - funnily enough, I didn't hang around to give them the car..... Only regret is I didn't run the fecker over and get some decent DNA on the car for the police.

Don't want to say too much more as would like to remain as anonymous as possible, but thought it only fair to echo the warnings.

On a side note, have been watching the forums for ages & have found some really useful advice; just not posted before as I didn't feel I had anything to add. Thanks for all the great information. Seems a shame the only thing I can now add is not particularly helpful!
