I got some new rims for my S3 today and want to sell the original S3 Avus wheels. They are in pretty good condition and tyres are ok at the moment but will need changing soon.

I wanted to ask you guys what they would be worth?

I will be getting pics up on here either tomorrow or Friday.

Hey Yaz, which ones did you go for in the end?

Expect between £150 - £300 for the original 17s.

Hi Maz,

I needed tyres and couldn't wait for 3 or 4 weeks for my original plan which was the wheels you have, so i thought i'd go and source some cheap replica 18", RS4's etc and the bloke at the shop made me an offer i couldn't refuse on some Azev C's 18's with tyres for £550 fitted! These should be about a grand or so. I know they're not to everyone's taste, but i know Azev are a very good quality wheel:

I'll get some pics of them on my car soon. Also they are 8.5" wide with an offset of et30 so they stick out perfectly and no need to buy spacers!

will be interesting to see them on car! Will either look great or awful! lets hope it's great!

What tyres did you get for £550? at that price it sounds like budget jobbies!

Yeah they are budget, tbh i've never heard of them! however they are ZR rated and i'm not too bothered at the moment as long as they're legal!

I think the wheels look ok on the car as i'm warming more to them now, but they are completely apart from the OEM look obviously, so i think its down to personal taste. So here's a pic from my phone:

Hey Yaz, you will probably get between £150 - £300 depending on condition and tyres, as for the Azevs, you've taken it back to the old skool with them for defo, they are mint, I have ALWAYS loved these alloys!!!

Get some pics up ASAP please, i think they will look sweet, I remember back in the day, there used to be a Cavalier (Calibre Model) with the Azev A's and then he put a set of the Azev C's on and that car was the talk on the town!!!!

Haha beat me to it!!!

Looks good, some better pics would help...whats with the lights, how did you do them and where from???

Thanks for that mate, i'm preparing myself for the slatings! I know what you mean tho, when i saw the wheels today, i had no intention of buying them before i got to the shop, but seeing them took me back some years and i've always liked them. Then came the price and i never in my life thought i'd own a set of Azev's 'cos they're just so much money usually! Something inside my head was saying to buy them, i dont regret it, i do like them and obviously the pics do them no justice whatsoever! I'm pleased i've got someone's backing!:) Cheers Pal!

Someone has some on here for £160 unsold. I was offered some at £100 yesterday. Reasonable but not perfect condition. 2 good tyres 2 worn.

Yaz are the Avus's standard colour wise and what are the tyres like on them???

Im actually liking the LED strip, doesnt look as chavvy as some I have seen, were they easy to fit??

Need some better daylight pics i think dude...

Yeah i wasn't too sure about buying them either, but they look awesome in the flesh. He's a linky:

The Avus's are completely standard in colour, good condition, tyres are ok to drive on at the moment but will need changing soon.

Not bad...look quite good actually.

like the wheels they look good better pics needed though, not sure on the led's though sorry mate

Hi Kev, i've taken a pic today to show you guys as i got the car washed earlier, but i'm not on my home computer right now so i'll upload them when i can.

As for the LED's, well i like 'em - good job its my car then eh? :icon_thumright:

I have a pet hate of fog lights , in that pic they look really bright do they benifit driving or is it just for the look ????

Always get a hard-on for Azevs ever since my uncle had them on his old E34 M5.... Some better pics and maybe some lowering shall do this car and its new wheels some justice. As for the LEDs I prefer them to be alot less brighter but maybe the pics again?

Really like these mate, were they easy to fit / wire in? Any chance of some close up daylight pics of how they are fitted etc?

Love the wheels - retro cool... :s3addict:

LED strips were very easy to fit, they are attached to the grill section where the front fogs are and they are wired in to the side light loom.
They don't benefit driving visually at night as they aren't that bright, i think the pics make them seem brighter than what they are as its not easy to take a picture of a light.
I mainly done this for the look, he's another pic of them in the day time:

Thanks for the comments on the wheels guys, much appreciated! I agree with the lowering and this will be done next year at some point and i think this will really transform the look. Here's a daytime pic:

I know it will look good when i get the car lowered, 'cos the wheels are 8.5" wide and have a low offset so they sit perfectly in the arches, no need for spacers! You need to see it in the flesh tho really...

Those wheels belong on a Mk1 Cavalier. What were you thinking?
You've turned a nick Audi A3 into an old astra!

Not my cup of tea (if you didn't already work that out)

:blahblah1::blahblah1::blahblah1:

btw its an S3.

I love you people, if you're not gunna say anything positive then move on to the next post mate, no need to slag off my car for all to see is there? At least you've seen the pics and you know not to buy Azev C's 'cos they look chavvy on an S3.
It's all very well doing it behind your computer screen mate, but would you say that to my face? Cos i wouldn't...

I think the rims look ok, nice and fat like the car itself. Not so keen on the LED's, but everyone to their own.

i like both. the wheels look deep, but the leds are marmite....

if u know what im saying...

Thanks for the comment mate and i accept that everyone has their own opinion and of course they are entitled to it. But i would never say something negative about someone's car on here or on any forum for that matter, i would just keep my opinions to myself. Plus i wouldn't have the front to say it to someone's face either! So thats the point i'm trying to make and at the end of the day these modifications aren't cheap and if someone is proud of them, has worked hard to pay for them, etc, who on here has the right to take that away?

Maybe its just the way i was brought up...?

I completely agree with you mate, if you've earned it and bought it then you should enjoy it. Unfortunately you will always get people who are more than willing to share their opinion (wanted or not) on a public forum as ultimately that's what public forums generally tend to be about. I'd just ignore peoples comments and crack on :)

Yeah you're 100% right, but it just annoys me 'cos i know prob all or most of these people wouldn't say the same to my face if we were all at a club meeting or something like that.

Anyway, i dont wanna drag this out, but i know what my morals are. Thanks again.

i think negative comments can be positive at times though as it can give quite a good discussion on a thread its just crap when its your car in the talking point, ive done things ive been well proud of then posted it up and had people saying na' but never mind its mine and i like it

I want to comment but I cant see the new pics... The rims are deffo an old school favourite. Brave choice I would say considering the S3 suits about a handful of rims that are available but then I also think its good to be different. As for the leds, Im not going there;)

Sorry but these wheels do look like lick! This thread reminds me of when Coullstar put those ABT wheels on his lovely S3 and people who just didnt understand old school put them down as being chavvy! Nutterzz!

I Love the look of your S3 on on these Azev s. Old school but modern at the same, looks the nutz and will be sick with the suspention dropped..................... to many people interested in oem audi and part number rather than improving an awesome car

interestingly, from the original link, I thought they looked awful for the S3.

From the first picture, I thought you had made a mistake.....

Then the decent picture in the daylight, and I actually think they look really nice! the rounded but chunky shape suits the S3 fairly well!

I reckon some 10mm spacers on the back would look perfect!

Thanks Prawn, its a bit hard to see in the pics but i think i will wait until i've lowered it first before i buy spacers. I might possibly get away with it.

If you see my car in the flesh you'll know what i mean, thanks again mate.

I really need to get it lowered, i think i'm gonna start looking for some coilovers to buy in the new year!

I quite agree, I wouldn't want to risk spacers before lowering, as you may drop it and find it rubs really bad.

Also, lowering tends to effect the camber too, which changes the appearance of how the wheel sits in the arch.

get it dropped, then when it's all settled, measure it up for spacers
