Potential S3 Owner

Hi all, just wanted to introduce myself, I currently have a stage 1.5 VX220 Turbo (233bhp, 265lb/ft torque) but Im thinking about swapping it for something more practical and more refined but something that still a bit of fun and I think an S3 fits the bill will probably get it remapped as well.

This looks a really good site so ill be searching through past post and guides for loads of info.

I had a 220bhp VW corrado before i got the S3, and i have never looked back, the only thing i miss is the driving possition and the fact that everyone looked at the corrado as it was different.

The s3 is just so much more planted and useable as an car to drive fast, but at the same time you can fit 4/5 (only got 4 belts) people in it and stuff in the boot for everyday use.

Kev, looking at your sig your car sounds almost identical to mine. I have all the same kit underneath but Audi TT rims and AP-Racing 4pots. Have you got any more info on the jbs k05 setup?

no as i havent got it yet lol, do a serch on here has been mentioned quite a bit before but should be good for 320bhp with all the acosiated mods and a good mapp
 
Thanks Kev, couldnt find much from the search so i have PM'd JBS. There site seems to be down so i couldnt look on there.

I want to know where in the powerband it creates the extra power and how, i am looking for a bit more power than i have allready but i dont want the lag of an IHI or Garett conversion.

I currently spool 21psi at 2750rpm and the k04 can hold that to the redline in gears 1-3, in 4th it drops to about 19/20psi, 5th and 6th it can only hold 17/18 psi, so what I am looking for is a turbo that can produce the same level of boost at low revs but flow more at the top end.
 
Welcome Gaz, a friend of mine had the NA version of the VX200 he is a long standing customer of JBS and we ended up putting a fair few mods on it for him.

welcome Gaz, used to work for VX myself, was specialist for Vx220:sign_plug:

damn nice car, although i guess you've spent the most on thread lock, all the turbos that went through us had had smashes, 2 of them written off and rebuilt in house without being registered.....cant imagine one remapped though.... dangerous car in the wrong hands as standard
