Hello All,

I'm new to the site but have owned a 'mapped 2001 Ming Blue 210bhp AMK S3 for about a year now. After swearing I would never mod it, I can't help thinking of a few things I'd love to do to improve it here and there but want to keep it as 'standard' as possible. I'm not fussed about pace but after recently having the front suspension rebuilt the issue of handling has been at the front of my mind.

Does anybody know about having the standard Haldex system tweaked? Is it a case of a plug and play part or are there further modifications needed in order to change the standard setup. Also - does the part convert the car to permanent 4WD or does it just alter the way the haldex system distributes power?

And finally what does it cost (roughly) and is it worth it?

Any thoughts/suggestions/experiences would be most appreciated.

Cheers

Snedley

I'd be very interested to hear people's experiences with this. Does it help to eliminate understeer?

I've heard of Haldex Blue and assume it's what we're talking about??

im no expert but im guessing your answer will be to sort the ARB's/shocks and springs before you go looking at spending £500 on a module

Its certainly something I will be purchasing later on. I believe it is quicker and more proactive with its transfer of power to the back.

Cheers S3fan...interesting read, dont think i'd ever do mine unless i was going to go all out big turbo, suspension etc....just think for that money of the new module you could buy another 2 S3's.....Lol !!

I totally agree with WAK TT as i found handling much more improved going in and out of bends and more sure footed all round!
Man am i starting to regret selling it?!?!

Easy to take for granted what you have.....

Hi Snedley, have a look on this thread mate
http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/showthread.php?t=21858&highlight=performance+haldex in my opinion i would agree with Ess three's comments on this one, i had one fitted on my car for a bit and removed it after around 100 miles. My car felt slower with the PHC it is much more aggressive with the standard haldex, it depends what you want i suppose you will find every one has an opinion. I personally would sort the suspension, ARB's and brakes to start with. Hope this helps.

interesting...... nothing is ever straight forward eh?

cheers for all the help :salute:
